Does anyone have photos/diagrams of a double magneto set-up? I have one of the '90's era Revell/Monogram funny car kits that uses this set-up and I would like to do some wiring on the motor. I believe it uses 2 spark plug per cylinder and I want to get the wiring right. Does each mag. supply one set of plugs? I assume 8 wires from each mag. to a set of plugs, is this correct? Also do the wires come out the side of the mags. or out the top? I have seen both styles and was wondering what would be correct for this kit.

1 Magneto supplies wires to 1 set of sparkplugs, just like a real car, only doubled,I believe the wires from the 90's & up come out thru the top of the mag.

Thanks Terry, that is exactly what I was looking for! It clearly shows the wires coming out of the top of the mags. and I also like the different colored wires, except now I'll have to buy another color to go with the red I have. Thanks again.

Here's a photo of Chuck Ettchell's 1995 FC. He has 2 MSD Pro Mags and both are wired in red. Some teams used 2 colors to make it quicker to identify the mag during a rebuild.

MSD has wiring diagrams on their Pro Mag site. http://www.msdpromag.com/

i posted a video on making and wiring these mags in the Tips & Tricks forum. I have a couple of videos you might like at http://www.youtube.c...ng?feature=mhee

The schematics/drawings are great Mike, just put them on my Reference Page on my Favorites for future reference. Thanks, it'll be a great help on some of my builds anyway!
