This is my most detailed build to date. The paint is Model Master Burgundy Red Metallic.

Some highlights:

- MCG photo etch set

- Reverse lights added into tail lights

- Detailed engine compartment: ignition wires, coil, battery terminals/wires, heater hoses, some vacuum lines, brake lines, fan belt

- Detailed dash: added knobs, grab bar, vents

- Headliner with light

- "Wood" trim painted for center console and dash

- Seat belts

- Through-the-body dual exhaust

- Custom license plate

Thanks for looking! If you want more photos, the album is here.

really nice job what color did you use for that wood grain.

John

The woodgrain was Testor's Brown as a base and Testor's Rubber as the grain.

Real nice build! I grew up with a guy who had a '68 Firebird convertible. We spent many a night running the wheels off that car.

Gee.....was it really 35 yrs. ago? Great memories.... Thanks.

@George Thanks! I had to pay homage to my beautiful home state. Tell those pleasant peninsulas I said hi!

@Bruce Good eye on the cover bail! That's when I knew things were getting crazy... Oh, and thanks for teaching me a new term - cover bail. :D

@Jim I had a feeling I'd be hearing from you. Thanks!
