New guy here. Here is my '89 Batmobile I built a few years ago. I'm mainly a scifi modeler but dabble in cars once in a while. I love lighting models and this was no exception. Enjoy the pics.

And next to the '66 for comparison.

I agree, that is awesome! My most favorite Batman movie ever! Great job and thanks for sharing! Welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing some more of your work.

Robert - First Welcome to the Forum!!! Now, that's an AWESOME Batmobile you've done there. I've built this one myself, but didn't light it (I'm not good with electronics). :D

Hey Robiwon, great to see you over here and that's a sweet-looking Batmobile. Those inside fin seams on that kit are a PITA to fill!! There are a couple of other SSM regulars who post here, too. I think a Spinner would get a lot of attention on this site... do you have one of those in the works?

Wow, thanks for the compliments guys! To answer a few questions, yes the cocpit is lit with fiber optics and a single white LED hidden in the back. Tamiya clear acrylics give the lights the different colors. An overhead blue LED illuminates the whole cockpit. The fin seams were a pain to fill, but it looks great when finished. The model is lit with several LEDs, yellow for the head lights, white and blue for the enterior and 4 reds for the taillights and red and yellow for the afterburner. The exhaust is a cotton ball pulled out and sprayed with hairspray to keep its shape.

I do plan on doing a fully lit Spinner. I'm already gathering LEDs for it.

Sneak peak as to what is on the bench right now. Going slow as I have a house full of relatives right now. Not much time for building.

Thanks again guys. I do have another '89 in my stash that will get lighted and some body mods. It will have a flip open front end. I always thought the front end should flip up if you look at the panel lines on it. When I get around to building it I'll do some in progress shots of it. I'm also doing a fully lighted Knightrider kit (no pun) as well. I will do a build thread on that. I may even throw together a basic "how to light your models" thread if there is enough interest.

Lighting is one of those things that I've always wanted to try on a build. The lighting on this is very effective and I for one would love to learn how you got the results that you did.

That's just showing off, man! There's a batmobile thread in the community builds section, you should repost this there.

I'd like to see what you could do with the lighting on a BTTF DeLorean time machine... :)
