JasonFL Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) So after posting about the Mustang Estate Wagon and someone had posted a picture of a camero wagon I thought I'd go hunting for more photos. Being a camaro fan and not so much a mustang fan I was excited to see the results. The camaro wagon looks killer and I would love to see the blue one built. Has anyone ever built one of these? Edited August 31, 2012 by JasonFL
charlie8575 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Makes me want to buy one of those Dynacron bodies and do some modifications... Very cool. Charlie Larkin
Rob Hall Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I saw someone posting a neat resin transkit of a similar '69 Camaro wagon (for use w/ the Revell '69) on one of the Facebook groups recently..looked neat.

JasonFL Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 x2 hes using the last rendering as a box art Really? That would be a relly cool kit. I've never built a resin kit but I'd defiantly give it a try. If you find any photos post me up
ewaskew Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Well since I have a Camaro pick up. I beleave I'll build one,it looks pretty cool.
Kodiak Island Modeler Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Back in the 90s, somebody in Knoxville Iowa built an early 70s Camaro into a wagon. Thank goodness I only saw it a few times, because they didn't do as good of a job as the renderings here.
Casey Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) The problem with converting a hardtop coupe into a wagon is the roof and rear quarter panel contours between the two are quite different. You got straight, horizontal lines (wagon rear quarter windows) mixing with smoothly arching lines (Camaro quarter panel edges), and a near-flat wagon roof which doesn't work well with the Camaro's tapering side window openings. This design is much more thought out and the styling better integrated: There's a good reason most wagons and 4-door sedans used different quarter panels and roofs than 2-door hardtops through the years. Hexagram Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 As a wagon and camaro owner id love to see this, heres a link I found that has some 1st gen camaro wagon concepts gm was working on back in the day. Theres also some pre 67 camaro drawings aswell http://flymall.org/blog/?p=207
Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Sweet transformation. The results are pretty cool, I think.

I agree with you to a certain degree but then when I saw the photo I wasn't to impressed. I guess it just loses its attitude if that makes any sense.

Very italianesque. Bill Mitchell sure loved Europan design at the time.
RickRollerLT1 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Funny thing is I remember on some weird anime show called "Serious Black", I saw what definitely looked like a Camaro station wagon that had some woman driving it. IIRC, the scene played out as the woman was putting furniture in her car (she was jamming it in there with "power attacks), and some pervert touched her romp, then she hit him in the nads, then got into her car and mowed the him down with blood all over the car. Weird and sick, but funny scene! Does anyone remember this?
ewaskew Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You have any pics of that? I'd be interested in seeing how that came out. Heres the first one I did. I took a 41 Chevy truck and built the front end so that the 69 Camaro grille would fit and the tail lights are in the roll pan. Heres the second one I did Here is a Mustang truck that I built also. So like I said I beleave I can find a 69 Camaro and mess with it and see what I can come up with.
JasonFL Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Came across this tonight and thought you guys might like it. It's an actuall resin kit for the camaro wagon, not sure if it's a good kit but it's pretty cool. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on this one day. Here's the link to the page to buy the kit http://www.kaucherkustoms.com/resin-kits/
JasonFL Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Earl, sorry I didn't see your post before but those are some really sweet looking builds. Thanks for posting them up.

No problem Jason Thats a nice resin kit that guy is selling and a good site for some custom build ideas. Looking at the photos up close the resin looks good and smooth.
Danno Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) Those KKM resin kits look very interesting! Anybody know anything about the quality and delivery time?? Edited June 7, 2012 by Danno
Greg Wann Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I just saw one of those wagon kits go through Ebay the other day.
C.C.RACER Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Heres the car Jason was asking to be done. My friend gave me the pic and I was ask to see how close I could make it. What do you think. Edited August 31, 2012 by C.C.RACER
