hd2500gmc Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 This is one that I have been working on....... Thanks for looking.....
rmvw guy Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) David, I might be wrong but, I think you have the heater hose going where the radiator hose goes on top of the engine. Just thought I would point that out before you get too far. The paint and engine detail look great other than that. I love the color! Edited April 26, 2012 by rmvw guy
cobraman Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Could catch on that hose. I didn't notice that but the man is sure correct.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Gorgeous, you can't go wrong with this Nova. Nice going.
hd2500gmc Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Thanks for the comments but if you look a little closer just behind the heater hose is where the radiator hose goes... The heater hose on the old school 350s is just in front of the radiator hose.......
Badluck 13 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Nice nice nice nice, and NICE Nova, great color choice and engine looks awesome!!!
rmvw guy Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) Sorry about that David, yeah you're right. These old eyes aren't seeing like they use to. Now I will eat my shoe. Honestly it looks better to me all the time. The hoses look right on the money. Now I'm noticeing the return spring on the carb, the neat job on the distributor and wire looms, alternator bracket and I realise you are just getting started. Please pardon me and I will cotinue to watch this build with interest. Edited April 26, 2012 by rmvw guy

hd2500gmc Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Thanks for the comments I will have more pics later....
espo Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Really great looking Nova. Just my 2 cents on this hose issue. I belive that the hose on the front of the intake manifold is for the water pump bypass. The bypass hose should go from the front of the intake to the top of the water pump where the other heater hose is now mounted. As I recall the heater hose is attached to the intake manifold just to the passanger side from the top radiator hose. The other heater hose is attached to the water pump just above the lower radiator hose. Maybe you can look at a 1:1 car magazine or a shop manual to verify. Looking forward to seeing this all trimed out. SS or sleeper?
TooOld Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 The heater hoses look fine to me . I just can't find the Radiator Hose ! Seriously , Very nicely detailed engine compartment ! I like the color too . This will be sweet when finished .
hd2500gmc Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 Getting close to being done, did a little research on that dang hose and some use that port and some did not.... I know that on the real one I built those where the ones I used..........So here are some more pics......
Badluck 13 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 That is one beautiful Nova, nice paint/detail work to the grille.
59 Impala Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I really like the looks of this Nova and those wheels look killer on it. Nice choice of color for the body and the tan interior really goes good with this color. Dan
lrlocke01 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I agree the wheels really set this one apart, looks great.
rmvw guy Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 It turned out great David! Didn't mean to highjack you in the beginning over that "dang" hose. You can be proud of this one!
hvymtl Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Awesome looking build ! love the late model SS wheels . the heater hose is wrong that spot would have a oil fill tube or a freeze plug to block it off . the heater hose would run right next to the rad hose near the pass side valve cover. I don't like to pic nits but just trying to make sure the info is right . And looking at the pics it looks really good anyways. I really like the first pic in bare plasticand it sitting low that was good also
