rmvw guy Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) This is a two year old build. I had two kits the AMT Classic and the older Lindberg offering that were basically the same. The idea was to make a before and after. Hope you enjoy. http:// 1181.photobucket.com Edited October 14, 2015 by rmvw guy

george 53 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 WOW! Talk about silk from a sow's ear!!!!! VERY nice.
Bartster Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Very nice restoration theme. I've thought about doing this to get some experience with weathering. Looks like it was a fun time ?
Dr. Cranky Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Excellent, I like both, the crusty and rusty and the smooth and classy.
Eshaver Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I must say IMPRESSIVE builds on both counts . This isn't exactly a throw it together kit as too many of the supension pieces are very tought to get off the sprues . . I built this one as part of one of my service station dioramas several years back . Ed Shaver
sjordan Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Just outstanding work on a kit that isn't seen very often. Beautiful stuff. One question...wouldn't the trashed-out version have nastier or flat tires, or some wheels without tires?
peter31a Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Very Cool builds, Ron! Nice to see the classics getting some lovin' Like the before and after concept.
Monty Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 This is a neat shade of red. What paint did you use on this?
Grumpa Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Two very nice cars Ron. The weathering looks great. I can see that the vents on the sides of the hood are open. Did you open these yourself? If so...I tip my hat to you.
surfjunke Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Both are very well built. Great idea & well exacuted.
rmvw guy Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 (edited) First of all thanks to everyone who commented on this thread. This is a two year old build way before I knew about the Forum. I have learned a lot from you guys already, I love it here! I wish I was half as good as some of you. To answer all questions; I didn't put much wear on tires two years ago I admit the first one would look way better with more distress, the paint was Dupli Color cranberry (I don't know if they still make it) on the second one, although the vents may appear to be opened I assure you they are not, I wish I was that good. Sorry Harry for being a little slow at the beginning with my photos, I had not yet dowloaded them to Photobucket when I began this post so, had to stop and take care of that. I promise I will get better. Edited April 29, 2012 by rmvw guy
Anderson_15_ Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 i have a question if your still listening. Did you use any of the gangster trees on these builds? if not, do u still have them? if so send me a text because id like them.
Tom Geiger Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 All the photos are gone from your post. Seeing just pictures of kittens here!
