Thanks. I have a question. What would be a good mock up glue to use so I can take apart to paint? Thanks to this site I am learning a lot of modding tricks and stuff.

I use a tiny dab of crazy glue to temp parts with. I use it all of the time to re attach parts to scrap sprue before I primer and paint them.

Wow! Some really nice clean work for your first time. I got mine all open and hinged but haven't attempted the door jams yet. Keep it up

Here are a few pics of my progress. It's been a little slow going with the temps outside of about 105* for the last 3 or 4 days now. Working on getting ac to my garage. Anyway, thanks for looking.879dbd8a.jpg59241acd.jpg59088dfc.jpg6e0aedfc.jpgbf752d3f.jpg6e0aedfc.jpg

You're moving right along on this and your work looks great !

To temporarily assemble parts I use a glue from Micro-Mark called Detail Tack . It's a white glue that when it dries leaves a very sticky surface . Parts can be assembled and taken apart as many times as you want ! Just put a small dab on one piece and it will stick to anything . I even use it on toothpicks to handle small parts , it's easier than tweezers .

Coming along nicely. Clean and precise. I can almost feel the bass blasting out of the speakers.

Bob - I like the glue 'tip'. I'll pick one up with my next purchase, thanks.

I am a little scared to do a door/deck mod. I like your hinge setup. Very stable looking., and serves as a good stand off between the shell and trim to build the door frame. Can't wait to see the full finish.

Thanks! The speaker box is from another kit. Not sure if I'm going to use them. Maybe cast a copy of them. I have a few more pics to post. I got the body primed and sealed. I use duplicolor primer and sealer. Have had good results it using the sealer. I get a real slick finish using it. 2ce02a53.jpg5903fa47.jpg440440c1.jpg31e1d667.jpgebf41bc6.jpg

I love the way this is looking. I'm on my first try at cutting doors out myself and I've struggled. You look like you've mastered it.

Well this is the first time I tried hinges. Was a slow going and a lot of trial and error. For me at least. I just used stock tubing and paper clips. There are a few tuts on hinging doors out there.
