jjsipes Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Does anybody know whether this verison of the 64 Mercury still has the stock car parts with it? I believe the older verison in the small box did but wasn't sure about this one? Any help out there?
Chuck Most Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Other than being in the standard size box, it is the same kit as the small-box version. So, yes, it does have all the stock car parts.
jdcar32 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Beware, these old tool kits are vertually curb side kits with a motor. If your just looking for a nice shelf model this kit is fine. Or it can be kit bashed with a newer tool vintage Ford ( 60 or 60 ? ) for a detailed build. Good luck with your project.
Casey Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Forthcoming reissue: AMT-1294 1/25 1964 Mercury Marauder Fastback Hardtop This was the first of the "Buyer's Choice" release under AMT/Ertl, from 1995: Original issue kit on eBay: 2
Bob Ellis Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I just built the Buyers Choice kit It was stock with all of the 1964 kit parts.
stavanzer Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 A really great kit. It and the '63 Galaxy share a design philosophy and many parts can be swapped from one kit to the other. New Whitewall tires and fresh decals and It is a winner. Nice Paxton Supercharger too.
THarrison351 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I still have one of these Buyers choice kits on the shelf. It's supposed to be used for a #8 Joe Weatherly stock car. I also have another one started like the kit at the top. I can confirm they all the same parts.
bisc63 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 One of my favorite kits, it just does a lot right. The body looks spot-on, and is crisply molded, and there's a load of well-done custom parts and extras. Also, it's a sharp body style automobile! Glad to see it coming around again.
Mike C. Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I did some modifications on 2, 1/18 diecast of this car. Always been a big fan of this one. 4
