Saab JA-37 Viggen

I built this SAAB JA-37 Viggen about two years ago. This jet fighter served the swedish airforce from 1972 to 2005.

I like it. I keep thinking I'd like to try building an airplane so I can try out all the shading and weathering techniques that are so prevalent on planes. How did you get those paint effects? Is it easy? Because it doesn't look easy but I'm hoping it is.

I love the Viggen! I built the Esci 1/48 kit many, many years ago with the splinter camouflage and almost went nuts with all the masking...

One of my favorite things about aircraft models is the one thing I suck at, and the main reason I don't build them- doing those subtle paint fades. This one came out great.
