epi4561 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Has anybody ever seen or used something like this on their plastic models? I was wondering if it would be a good buy for someone who is new to the hobby and doesn't have a big (or even a small for that matter) spare parts bin. http://www.diecastfast.com/diecast/DCF/PROD/WHLS-2003 thanks-epi
1930fordpickup Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I have sen these on cars before . Just remember they are a large dia wheel for 1/25 scale. 20" or 22" wheels I think .
JamesW Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Those actually scale out closer to around 26", and they're quite wide. You may need to narrow the chassis and/or the rim to get them to fit right.
epi4561 Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 Yikes, that's too big. 26" is not what I was looking for. thanks-epi
Casey Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Garry, I'd suggest you start a post in the Wanted section for what you're looking for, as you may be surprised by how many people don't use the lo-pro tires and larger diameter wheels in the Revell California Wheels series kits.

I would, but as I am a newbie with relatively no "inventory"... I really don't have anything to offer up for trade at the moment.. I do appreciate the suggestion though.. thanks-epi

At many of the shows I have been to there are folks selling piles of wheels and tires, sometimes complete sets out of kits, for as little as $1 or 2. Use the 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby to buy a kit for it's wheels and then use the rest of the kit for trades with other forum members. Also check with Tower Hobbies as they sell Pegasus wheels and right now they have free shipping on orders of $25 or more, not hard to find 3 sets of wheels to place an order on.
