I have the AMT Phantom re-issue and want to use the diamond porthole windows but don't know how to cut them out of the body.Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Make a template out of card stock (index card or similar thickness), and cut a hole out, inside which the porthole window will fit. Take the hole template, place it on the body (tape it in place so it stays put), then trace around the inside or the template's hole. Then, using your favorite scribing tool, carefully scribe through the plastic along all four edges until the hole in the van body is open. Get out your needle files, and carefully file and sand until the porthole window fits perfectly inside.

It's always better to not sand enough material away (until you get it just right) than to sand off too much and have a sloppy fit.

You could, and I say could also do a little careful grinding the inside with a Dremel if you have one. It would make it more easy to do the cutting as mentioned above. I would use a sanding drum but you would have to be careful to not go through the plastic all the way.
