scbaker Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 This is a newly started project ... It's a modified race car ... Started out with a scrap body I got in a bunch of kits I got from a member over on Fred's forum ... Cut the bottom off of it ... Removed the door pillars and opened up the side and rear windows ... Jim at Micro Nitro is machining some great "WIDE 5's" for me as we speek ... Can't wait to get those ... Hope to get a lot done on this over the weekend ... Thinking of this being my first real contest model entry ... Heres the first mock-up photo. Thanks for checking it out Comment good or not always welcome. Steve B.
scbaker Posted September 14, 2012 Author Posted September 14, 2012 Just thought I would post a picture of what I'm kinda trying to build ... I'm sure it is kinda hard to visualize if you are not familiar with the type of car Steve B.
Sixties Sam Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Now there's something different! That should be a unique and interesting model. Sam
Tom Setzer Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I used to look forward to my Uncle taking me to the Local Tracks to watch these cars race, when I was a kid!
Foxer Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Some of my favorite cars there. I love the snake's nest of headers on your example.
roadhawg Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Looking forward to more. Jim at Micro Nitro is machining some great "WIDE 5's" for me as we speek ... Can't wait to get those ... Can't wait to see those. Are they going to be a one-off type thing, or will he have them available for sale?
scbaker Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 Jim at Micro Nitro took the project as a one off request from me ... I have no idea if he plans to add them to his inventory or not ... Sorry. It would be great if he did though ... I'm sure they would sell. Steve B.
charlie8575 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Looks as if it'll ride a bit rough- not much suspension there. A little bit of a different model; things like this don't seem to get built too much. Nice work, Wor. Fraternity, Charlie Larkin
