ronr Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Just a few shots of a early dirt mod I`m getting ready for the Atlanta show this year,
Modelmartin Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 That is really well done! I am not a roundy round guy but this is a cool model!
ronr Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 "Ole Black Magic" Is 99% complete. Needs drag link and hood pins to finish. This car was built to depict a Mid`60s Winged Modified that were refered to as Skeeters in the southeast. Heres a few almost complete shots,
Tommy May Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Ron... That is beautiful. You know I live over in the next state to the west of you and was lucky enough to witness several "Skeeter" races in the mid to late 60's and you pulled yours off well. The races I saw were all on 1/4-5/8's mile paved tracks... The front runners normally used older sprint car frames and bodies... They were all running fuel injected big block engines using alcohol mixed with a little nitro.... The hot flames from the headers, the smell and your burning eyes was so sweet. You have sparked me into maybe building one myself... Thanks Ron.
James2 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Looks real nice, ronr, real nice! Is it a replecation of a 1:1 car?
ronr Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Thanks for the comments guys. James , It is a repilca of the era. No peticular car. But I have a replica in the planning stages.
Scoopdaddy Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Hey Ronr, It's hard to add more than what's been said already. You should be proud of this one. You really captured the feel for a time gone by. Mark
