Ive had this kit forever and this is actually the third build it's gone through. It's been languishing in a box since we moved about 15 years ago and it got damaged. Here's what I started this build with

Everything was stripped and redone using all kit parts except for the wheels and the missing air cleaner which came from the parts box.

Here's the finished product.

And then when I couldn't get the hood to sit completely flat I wound up doing this.

Fortunately it looks good without the hood too. Lol

Brittle plastic. Lol. Thought I was being gentle but not much flex to this old plastic. The hoods gonna need a complete redo but it's gonna have to wait. ?

I forgot one last piece (other than saving the hood) is to add the ACME plate. Dont have it on the car but how do you like this?

My favorite car (as of now, lol!). You're right about the brittle plastic! l broke the cowl in 3 places on one body! Yours looks nice in red. Good to see another '63 built. l hope to have one finished this year, lol. Bart.

That'll be a nice touch ; however , technically it's "incorrect" as personalised license plates didn't appear until 1970 , the year that Ca's plates went to blue with gold lettering .

Sharp looking Fury! Too bad about the hood. At least you can fix it and repaint it.

Thanks for all the kind words and the tip on the personalized plates. I originally wanted to cut the hood and add a scoop like the factory option. Maybe now that's the way I'll go with it. Maybe then IT WILL LAY FLAT! Lol

I know a source for this hood in resin . I have not bought from this vendor yet . The pics look good , and I think he sells the Factory Racing Scoop . PM or message me for the info .

like this restoration . Good save in "repaint red" . Just right . Thanx ..

This is true, however, there's a company in California that will make a fake plate in black and yellow. It's not street legal, of course, but you see them on show cars and race cars all the time. I've also known a few guys who have repainted their legal personalized plate black and yellow. That's not legal either but I've never heard of anybody getting stopped for it.

The average cop doesn't really notice stuff like that as long as you don't drive like an idiot.

That came out to be a really cool redo, you did a great job with that. It's a shame what happened to the hood, you should now just put a little cowl induction style to it, then it will really give it that mean look along with that stance you got going on there. Just an idea, overall I just thinks it looks mean with or without the hood, nice build.

Thanks again for all the love guys. In regards to the cowl induction idea, LOVE IT! That's basicly what I had on it but didn't want to cut the hood. Shoulda just cut it. Lol

The wheels are from an old Monogram Vega from the late 70s that's lurking in my boneyard.

Hard to believe I've had this since new. Maybe my next redo for the gluebomb thread. Lol

(Here's a pic of the kit from the web)
