dimebolt Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I'm getting ready to build a Marina blue 67 for my uncle to replicate his 1:1. His is pretty much factory, but I'm gonna build it as a pro streeter. Will be checking yours out for sure. Corey Quote
dimebolt Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Hope these help you some. Motor is a 428 w/tri power. 67 was the ONLY year you could get a 428 in a GTO, and it was special order option only. Not very many people even knew or know about it. His is pretty much stock, just dressed up. Anyways, good luck. I'll be checking it out. Corey Quote

Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Well im going to try just paint the trunk and blend it to the body. I also have the engine partially done couldnt find the right color so i came up with what was closest. The plate is what ive been calling my grandpa since i was a baby learning to talk. Quote
Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Good project you're doing for your grandad but I'm slightly perplexed.... You & he are both Ford fans, why has he alway's wanted a GTO/GM car?? Good luck blending the trunk but don't think it'll work out too good... You might just want to strip the whole body back & re-do it all.... Cheers Dan surprisingly the blend turned out pretty good. The GTO and Early 90s Rivieras are the only GMs hes ever wanted, he had a grey 92 riviera until 2010 when the rear end rotted away. Ill post pictures after this reply. Quote
Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Heres the trunk and front. just a quick display im gonna buff the trunk and body after the paint is 100% dry. Quote
Shardik Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Hey, that's looking pretty nice! Your Grandad's a lucky fella'! Quote
Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 well i chopped off the hood tach from the custom hood and painted it flat black, it will become part of the stock hood even though its the wrong color. Quote
dimebolt Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Lookin good so far Jake. Keep up the good work. Corey Quote
Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Put the tach on the hood and did the chrome trim on the bottom of the body. Also painted the Pontiac hood logo not my best detailing job but looks ok. Quote
Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 working on interior i really hafta practice small details Quote
Platerpants Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 chopped a mustang speedometer in half and used it as the numbering for the tach, and finished the interior. Quote
charlie8575 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Nice work on the paint recovery Jake. Looks good overall. Charlie Larkin Quote
