Agent G Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Here are the glamor shots. I used some Tamiya "Clear Smoke" to add depth to the grill lights and the spot light. They were cast as one piece in a mold I made from some old Yodel parts. G
martinfan5 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 NIce job G, I like the use of the Impala wheel covers and the Caprice steering wheel The radio and mike look good too, what kit did they come from?,
Agent G Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 The radio and siren box were cast in resin. I made a master from the parts in the 71 Ford kit. The mike is scratched from sprue. G
martinfan5 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Great job on the mike, I remember you talking about casting extra radios now from that kit
crazyjim Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Pretty cool, G. Only one suggestion - put a wash on a hubcaps.
Agent G Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Jim I have been debating that for a week now. Looks like your suggestion decides the issue G
Danno Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Nice!!! Turned out very sharp, G! FWIW ~ I second the hubcap wash. Those look too JC Whitney for the cop shop!
Agent G Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 Hub caps were attended to this morning. Pics to come. G
mikemodeler Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Good looking build! Did you have trouble putting the mirrors together on this? I could never get the mirrors to glue together and stay on the vans i built.
Agent G Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Mike I haven't tried the mirrors as yet due to those very issues. I'm thinking dechrome everything, assemble, then paint using foil for the mirror surface. The work vans didn't have chrome mirrors as I recall. G
Randy D Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Hi Wayne, Wonderful van!! The latch and step on the rear are really nice scratch touches. Great decals. Congrats! Randy
bsoder Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Not the van you wanted to go for a ride in!!..nice use of that kit G B)
