modelcarcrazy Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) Here is an old post with fresh photos. I built this one several years ago. It's built box stock. Edited April 3, 2018 by modelcarcrazy
TooOld Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Beautiful model ! It looks better without the top !
Modlbldr Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Great looking job. Those Boyd's kits were some nice kits with great parts box pieces. Later-
Dr. Cranky Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Outstanding job. Love the paint. It's a fine fine model.
CadillacPat Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Looks good Tony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You might be able to rid yourself of that tinted background using Auto Color in your photo editing, or making sure your camera is set for Incandescent and not Sunlight. CadillacPat
modelcarcrazy Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Hey guys, Thanks for checking out the Smoothster, I appreciate the compliments
Cesar Bossolani Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Very cool roadster! Best replica I've seen! Looks like as recently competed. Let me know what yellow did you used in body? Cheers!

Thanks Cesar, I airbrused Boyd"s Smoothster yellow over MM white primer. There was no clearcoat or polishing.
mrm Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Really cool. I love Boyd cars and have seen few in real life. Very nice kit and you definitely did it justice. Very clean build.
CadillacPat Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Yep, that new set of pics is much brighter and sharper. CadillacPat
