Wicky Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I've had a Jo-han 64 Dodge super stock kit in my stash for some time , I always liked the body but realy don't like the chassis that comes with it , I was digging through my stash last night looking for something else and I found a Lindberg Ramchargers 330 SS kit that has no body with it , I don't know why I never thought of it before , surely both cars would have been built on the same or at least similar floors as the bodies are very similar , so after a little bit of trimming it fits perfectly and I have the standard 330 kit aswell so I have a choice of 3 engines that will drop straight in , slant 6 , 383 V8 or hemi .
The70judgeman Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 HEMI!!! It's the little old lady from Pasadena in her Super Stock Dodge! Looking good so far.
Bartster Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Gotta love the old Mopars! Wish l had that body. Let's see more, please!
Wicky Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 HEMI!!! It's the little old lady from Pasadena in her Super Stock Dodge! I like the way you think I've mocked up the hemi to make sure it fits under the hood as I don't want to cut the hood or fit any scoops , yep it clears .
72 Charger Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Hi simon great job so far . Are you goin to drag it?
moparfarmer Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Everybody goes with the Hemi. Why not a slant with dog dish and steelies. Midline 2 dr ht with bench seats. The base car for "the little old lady"..Goldish shade or a medium metallic. There were many like that on the road...
The70judgeman Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Can you say....SLEEPER!!! Gonna be a cool build Simon!
Wicky Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 @ dave , no but yes but no , maybe open the trunk and put a set slicks in there ( with a bottle of nos maybe ) for those RWYB days down the Pod @ Wayne , that's basically the idea I have for the slant six , but in a late 60s Cuda ( a friend of mine had one a few years back , it was right hand drive , came from Australia I think ) @ Andy , yes .... yes I can
camarofreak82_427 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Thow a small blanket over the seat also
72 Charger Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 LOL ha ha little old lady would approve Doobie
GoatGuy Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I vote for the hemi, too. I built the same kit to slightly replicate a 64 I had years ago.
W-409 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 That's great, I like that body a lot too. With a combination of good chassis and this great body, this will be very nice build over all. I can't wait to see more, keep coming.
Wicky Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) small update , getting some work done on the engine and chassis I had to move the rear axle up on the springs to bring the rear wheels to a better position in the arches , and I made a new prop shaft but other than that , this has been a pretty straight forward build so far . Edited October 24, 2012 by Wicky
charlie8575 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I like. I also like the idea of \6 Barracuda. Charlie Larkin
Wicky Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 another quick update , got some paint on the body , still needs flatting / polishing .
dimebolt Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Looking good Wicky. Can't wait to see more. Corey
