Casey Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Those of you who appreciate Harry Bradley's work owe it to yourselves to take a few hours (I'm not kidding) to check out Parts 1 & 2 of the HBB articles over at Dean's Garage: http://deansgarage.c...adley-part-one/ http://deansgarage.c...bradley-part-2/ He's done some incredible work, and it's amazing how fresh many of his designs still look. There are literally hundreds of images, sketches, magazine articles and excerpts to view and read, but like I said, make sure you set a fair amount of time aside.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Thanks for the links, Casey. Always one of my favorite designers. One of his personal cars, the first one he built if I remember right, sold at auction in 2009 for mid $20k. Pretty cheap for a piece of history.
LDO Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Is that the La Jolla? I'm a big fan of Mr. Bradley. I have a lot of old magazines with his sketches. I'm on my phone right now and I'll lose my connection if I click that link, but I hope it has the green '47 Ford convertible that he restyled. It was a cover car for The Rodder's Journal about 15 years ago. Just a work of art.

I don't think kit was, as the article deals mostly with sketches and such, but I think this is the car you referred to, Lee?:
Casey Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 A brilliant way to disguise/synthesize a split windshield:
Casey Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Highly recommended reading if you're a fan of Harry Bradley's work, or just a fan of good automotive design:
blunc Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 there is just too much neat stuff in Dean's Garage!

Snake45 Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Wow. Next time I see it, I'll ask the guy about it.

Some of Harry's designs are quite out there, and not all that appealing to me, but to each their own. Here's another designed by Harry: http://www.deansgarage.com/2014/harry-bradleys-mitchell-gp/

It's not jam-[packed with sketches and drawings, but it's a good concise overview of Harry's personal and professional life. Also worth mentioning is his involvement in the development of the '69 Pontiac Trans Am, which is covered fairly well here: http://www.musclecarfilms.com/1969_Firebird_Engineering_Cars_2.html Edited November 9, 2019 by Casey
DukeE Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Cool. Plus, an idea for a 71 Charger and an AMTronic. Like the GP.
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Casey where did you read that. Did a search and didn't see anything about his passing.

Ace-Garageguy Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Far as I recall, I became aware of Bradley's real car work via this custom green El Camino cover car...
RancheroSteve Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Not much else, but I found this: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/harry-bentley-bradley-r-i-p.1292799/
