camarofreak82_427 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) heres my first "shiny" build since i been back to modeling. ive been doing rusty cars and lots of derby cars so heres a change hope my skills are up for it, theres going to be a lot of suspension work and questions ahead lol. so far i havnt really started. i been finding and ordering all the parts im going to need. i got detail master disc brakes and pegusus irok wheels so far. hers a mock up of how i want the stance im not sure what motor to go with. i have and ls2 or i have an old nascar engine that i need to clean up. any comments are welcome or if theres anything u see that should be changed let me know i want this to be a great build since its going to be shiny lol Edited November 8, 2012 by camarofreak82_427
ll Brandon ll Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Definitely the LS. Pro Touring us usally built around modern parts, etc.
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 thats what i was thinking myself. i just wasnt sure how to go about detailing it haha. i even thought about carbing the ls with the nascar intake to make it a little different n call it an lsx motor. the hardest part of this build is seeing where i want to go with it haha
72 Charger Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Hay brandan that going to be cool love the stance and I would go with the LS motor too
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 thanks i want it to have a tough stance, im also debating on color. i want a dark gray with black stripes n kind of synister. or should i make it bright with a synergy green! alll the choises! im gunna go crazy! haha
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Thats wat i was thonkin i love silvers n grays
hvymtl Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 yea the pro-touring guys like the ls motors ,wish it was as simple on a 1:1 as in our plastic lil ones. i too dig the charcoals and some silvers . and you nailed the stance too can't wait to see this one done. Michael
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 thank u guys i cant wait to actualy get started im a little nervous cuz im not used to doing shiney builds and cuttin up a car im making nice lol. might be slow process. i love the stance too. i love cars with a mean stance. im also looking at ideas for a front k member to scratch build and a 4 link too. never done any of that before
Teds57 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 im playing with one of these too but im going to use VCG's 572 in it
72 Charger Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Well if you F it up you could make it tatty sort of a sleeper lol
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 Haha im gettin good at them i jus finnished a truck tonight. I love this kit the fit seems great so far ive built one stock already. My fisnce bought this for my b day
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 4, 2012 Author Posted November 4, 2012 well i got a bit done lastnight ill have pics up tomarow i got the front end halfway fitted up to the stance i want i have to go buy a pack of pens to make the springs yet and figure out a front crossmember to but so far i narrowed the stock front end and made raised spindels from styrene and ground the back of the wheels in as far as i could to make them tuck in as far as i could. i also got my detail master disc breaks glued together but they seem to small for the front i found some corvette rotors in my parts box i may use for the front end. i have never done this before so i have to take my time ill be sure to update as much as possible i cant take many pics at night because my lighting is horrible in my house for my cell. thanks guys pics tomarow for ya
camarofreak82_427 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) well heres the pics i promiced 3 days ago. my first attemt at moving the front spindels was a bust, they were uneven and twisted so i broke them off and made new ones and made sure they were straight. its my first time trying this and the might be a litte off but i can fix it when i glue it down tons of test fitting went into this lol. i got the springs from a pen and thatll provide the space for the wheels. im still trying to figure out how to make a crossmember for the front also. to give it more suport and raise the body and frame off the front end about half a mm for clearance last night i cut the wheel wells out to fit the tires in the back. trying to find a twelve bolt or a nine inch and to a control arm set up instead of leafs in the back for somthing more modern or even a four link if i find one. and today i cut out the fuel tank to fit in a fuel cell. i might open teh trunk. im not sure yet kind of makes me nervous but i have a spare car on the shelf i could tear apart if worse comes to worse. if i do open the trunk i have some cool ideas. thats all for tonight. still have alot of work to do Edited November 8, 2012 by camarofreak82_427
