dimebolt Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Lookin awesome from here Doc. Can't wait to see more of this beast. Corey
Dr. Cranky Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 Thanks, my friends. Well, this puppy is fresh out of the drying cabinet. Foil and decals are next . . . but you know, I could not resist playing with the basic components. Enjoy . . . Looks frog like, doesn't it? LOL.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 Here it is double-topless: Unfortunately this is what happened when I showed EYEGORE the progress so far:
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 When you do shiny, it sure is different. That's 'bout as cool a bogger as I've seen yet.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 Thanks, Bill, now it's been confirmed that this might not be EYEGORE's eyeball but Jim S's. LOL!
crazyjim Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I'm really liking the SHINY :) here, doc. Why bother with rust when SHINY :) RULES!
LoneWolf15 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I'm really liking the SHINY :)/> :)/> :)/> here, doc. Why bother with rust when SHINY :)/> :)/> :)/> RULES! Lmao ! God bless him , Virgil ! He still try's to complete the transformation from rust to shiny permanence ! Jim , he'd just end up being a back slider ! Sooner or later the rust would clog the artery going to the brain and down he'd slide , back into the pit ! Better to have him sitting on the fence giving each side a fair taste of what twists their watch spring ! I'm waiting .......... Decals ? Chrome ? Etc ? Stuff your turkey on your own time , not ours ! Lets get this show on the road ! Lmao !
Dr. Cranky Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 LOL, you guys just keep making my day. It's coming, we are foiling next, and then the decals, and then final assembly with a finish of well spattered muds in some of the edges of the rocker panels. Shiny with some mud. Yes, that's what the doctor called for. Stay tuned in.
Guest G Holding Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) Doc...have an Idea you could pull off. Research the "Monster Mutt" monster truck...look at the big tongue in the grill. You and Eyegore could do springy mounted eyeballs in the headlight sockets...The picture with the Eye gave me the thought. Edited November 21, 2012 by G Holding
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Oh, Greg, that's a great idea . . . I just have to make some right diameter springs and do the eyeballs . . . THAT would look cool. Thank you.
LoneWolf15 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Oh, Greg, that's a great idea . . . I just have to make some right diameter springs and do the eyeballs . . . THAT would look cool. Thank you. Now it will look like a zombie frog on steroids , albeit the fastest and loudest in the swamp ! Lol !
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Jacen, it's going to have a little bit of mud, I am trying to keep it subtle. I hope. I think.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 LOL, okay, maybe just a little more than a little.
ScaleModelAddict Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Looks wicked DC. Love, love that engine...color is great too.
rmvw guy Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 That is some eye popin paint Doc !!! Poor EYEGORE. This is really coming together for another masterpiece, I love it!
LoneWolf15 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 LOL, okay, maybe just a little more than a little. :lol:/> :lol:/> :lol:/> After reading the last couple of posts , I went back and had to look .....now mind you , this is just my observation , but ...... Whoever hits the pedal to the floor in Steroid Willy best be wearing severe weather gear when those tires dig in !
LoneWolf15 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 And , might I add , a very powerful pressure washer ! Lmao !
Tony T Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Unless you got really big mudflaps, there'd be mud all over the place!! Looks great, Doc!! Now, get Eyegore to the ER so they can plug that eye back in!!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Well, we'll see how the mudding goes. I got the body finished less the mud, so stay tuned in, and happy THANKSGIVING to everyone!
shucky Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Doctor I've been waiting for the pics and you sure delivered! That paint is glass smooth. I cant help but love this build. The creativity and originality is off the hook. Not much else I could say but bring on more pics! Thanks as always for sharing.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Thanks, Mike. There will be more progress very soon.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 All right, the body is done sans the mud . . . I added a few interesting decals just to spice it up . . . Here's a mud-level perspective shot. LOL!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 The chassis, the interior, and the body are not glue together and won't be. I like to take things apart and look at them . . . LOL. But some of these shots show the body sitting a bit forward, but trust me it sits just right . . . .
