Today I also got this cool book book in the mail. Drag Racing Gassers, Photo Archive. A good companion to the Funny Car book I got a week ago, written by the same guy, Lou Hart. I figured both books can tell me more about what the models I’m build represent. And help with my builds in the future.

Got a care package from a modeling buddy today - sent me a tee, some stickers and a couple of coolers he painted.  I love getting gifts from modeling buddies!

But wait!  There’s more!

Picked up some LED lights and USB plugs (so I can run lighting for a model from either a portable phone charger, or thru mains with a USB adapter) from Evans - SUPER fast service and really helpful.  Impressive!

And finally, the first of my Prime Day purchases arrived…this stuff is SO useful for mock-ups and holding parts for painting.  I had a big tennis-ball sized blob of it but over the past few years it’s gradually shrunk to ping-pong ball size so I did a restock…

Should be good until 2027 or so now once I ‘top up’ the ball ?

Got the decals I ordered for the 1/12 scale Magnifier GT 40 . Doing the yellow car and these stripes have the Ford name . Kit ones do not .

Not sure why Michael’s has their Mustang kits for $16 (have they always been that cheap?), but this followed me home tonight...

Came in today’s mail. So now I’m cool like the rest of you guys. ? Happy to say, in a quick look, I’m not see any warped parts. Like others have reported. What a relief.

I  double checked mine again today too and made sure nothing was warped.  Mines all good, but what parts are showing up warped? The big ramp parts?

Read the reviews in “Industry Corner, Trunk Kit News and Reviews.” You’ll see a lot of complaints coming though about warped parts in general with this kit. Mainly with the main ramp parts and the hood. Like I say, so far mine is looking good. Though I am about to open the bag with the main ramp parts to double check them. So you may hear something different from me the next hour or two. I hope this is not case.

The ramp parts are looking good. But, my hood is definitely warped badly. The main frame is also slightly warped. But should straighten out as being built.

Oh man now im gonna have to triple check lol.  Didn't do any test fitting just looked at every part and everything looked straight and true.  Def will test fit the hood.

I’ve been wanting to start working with brass a little, and I can solder ok but never got a decent setup.  These Weller irons were on a flash sale on Amazon Prime day for $20 and I managed to grab one - excited to start playing with some metals!

In five hours, I’ve gone from from joy to disillusionment. The more I dig into this kit the worst it gets. The number of parts that are warped make it unbuildable. I’m going to see if I can send it back for a refund. It’s literally a piece of junk.

My Ramp truck arrived in yesterday's mail. I lucked out. Took everything out last night, and there are no issues with the kit at all. Hood, ramp pieces, frame, etc. No warping, no damage.

Yes this is true on these racks but I did not take a pic of the 20 other racks that have free paint
