Picked up 3 or 4 bottles of Model Master flat paint last night.  Sure wasn't much variety or stock left.

Yea, it is almost all gone.  Just found another Italian Red spray, as well as the last aluminum metalizer buffing in a spray!  Jackpot!

Nice. I just got another one of those Tauruses for cheap from ebay. What's your plan for it?

Well, the plan was to get one, for a reasonable price( they are getting pricey)  to build it stock, but since I got the PD version, I am going to probably build it as a police version now, and then get another to build that one stock, already have the factory paint for it ?

I am on this kick of wanting to rebuild some kits I built as kid, and the SHO's are one of them.

Jim, I got one of those circuit board holders a few months ago, never used it until today when I put on several decals on a  completed model body. Worked great.

I finally ordered one through Home Depot. I bought one on ebay. Was never sent to me. Ebay got my money back. Went to try and buy another one on ebay but checked all the sellers ratings. Gave up. Found it at Home Depot.com. $13 and pennies delivered. Bought it yesterday and it's suppose to be here tomorrow. We'll see. LOL Know things are backed up.

Yes i did but it seems like it is different at alot of their stores.
During my christmas vacation i looked in 6 different store in 6 different citys and none of them had the same.
It was around where my gf lives and on my way home from her so i did not just drive around to random citys stopping in their stores, they were all on my route anyway and i was not in a hurry home.

2 had no models at all, 2 had just the plane, porsche and a small uss hornet, 1 had the plane, porsche and mustang and the last had the plane, porsche and unimog.
But at one store the employee i talked to said that they could order it if i wanted.

So which dollar store chain exactly?

Yes, I have noticed the rise in prices as well. The kit itself is okay, but the police parts are of great quality. I'm planning on building a future AZ DPS version. If that's what you're aiming for, hit me up and I'll send you the reference material I have.

My Taig lathe arrived!  I got the basic Micro 2 starter kit, which comes in at a hair over $500 shipped - has enough to get started for a beginner, which is fine by me seeing as I don’t know what I’m doing ?  It’s almost infinitely upgradable as my skills progress, but doesn’t cost the earth to get going with so I took a shot and hoped it would work for what I’m hoping to do...

Some assembly later...

And after doing my level best to get everything aligned nicely and figuring out what all the cutting bits are for and triple checking everything was tight, I fired it up and did some machining!

I know this is kindergarten stuff to a lot of you seasoned machinists, but managed to make a little oil filter first time out without breaking anything or losing any fingers...success!  Can’t wait to practice some more and start working some nice metal parts into my builds!

Perfect start! I am dying to get my hands on another lathe. Had a Unimat 6 in 1 lathe from the 60's years ago and foolishly sold it to a good friend of mine. The good thing is, it's in good hands and I have permission (just not much opportunity) to use it when I visit.

I love it so far - was disappointed when I'd got it all set up and made a piece and realized it was time for bed already :D  Can't wait to get home and mess with it some more - already got a mental list of stuff I want to try making and some more materials I want to play with

Jim, one of my club officers is a wiz on the lathe, and a super guy. If you have questions or want instruction I’m sure he’d help. And he’s Zoom equipped! Drop me a PM or email

I appreciate that Tom, thank you!  I watched probably 50 Youtube tutorials before the thing even came and still had to do more Googling last night to figure out some basic stuff...definitely a lifetime of new stuff to learn just with this one tool!

I received my circuit board holder from Home Depot. Ordered it Monday and got it today. Along with some really nice replacement parts. 2 1961 - 1964 Lincoln hood ornaments. 2 front fender ornaments for my 1960 Hubley Ford station wagon promo and a hood emblem for my 1965 Ford Galaxy promo. They are real nice.

The '65 Chevelle SS (and correct '66 Nova SS as well) wheels and '60 Ford F-100 interior bucket landed safely today.

On an even happier note, so did this:

'69 Buick Wildcat radiator wall courtesy of our esteemed Snake! Postmarked December 9th from the eastern U.S. with no indication what the heck took it so long to get here - the envelope was undamaged, postage was correct, address was correct, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ??

Now to mold and copy it for my '70 Wildcat, which will be curbside no more... and return it safely.

Very stisfying to achieve something like this. I have one too and I enjoy playing with it.
