Took a trip out to Dollar Tree and bought all of this for just under $10. I figured it would be a good reminder that many of the less glamorous modeling tools can be found for cheap. Also wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Mod Podge.

Better stock up now before they become Buck-‘n’-A-Quarter-Tree ?

I just got this sealed inside kit in a trade. I have to say that this is the first kit I've ever had that I am a bit afraid of. It may be well beyond my capabilities.

Don’t sell yourself short. Besides, as long as you have fun and/or learn something, then it’s worth it regardless of how it turns out.

Nice that one is on my list for the future. Probably not next year. Have some Tamiya kits I wanna get first.

There's a step by step building guide on that McLaren in the latest Model Car magazine. Seems the model was fairly easy to paint and build the way Tamiya designed it.

I've felt the same as you about certain kits figuring my building skills aren't worthy of the kit.

Thanks! I'll have to check that out.

An opportunity presented itself last week...my good friend George Bojaciuk posted up some products available from "Canuck 3D model parts" ....being items of projects deep in my sub-conscience.... I pulled the trigger.   I bought the 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo conversion (front header panel/grill, w/ headlamp lenses, front bumper, tail light panel, rear bumper & added the stock full front bench seat) also snagged the '98 - '02 s10 front grill with light lenses & valance, & added the bucket seats with console.    Wow!!    Wylde's products are absolutely stunning!    THX George!!    Wylde!   ....I'll be hittin' up your site real short-like!!

It would be nice if someone would come up with 98-up S-10 interior parts and a rear bumper. Dash and door panels are different than what is in the AMT kit.

In the works, I need that too. Wylde159616521_443956443582487_5239329626188892190_n.png.7121eb6077a22bc0599954ee211a44f1.png

Last night I ordered 1 of those 1/16 AMT 1955 Chevy Nomad kits while there are still some left. The prices are already starting to climb and as with all these big scale kits will probably go into the stratosphere eventually. I already have just about every part waiting (dual quad chevy rat motor with headders, wheels, tire choices etc. in 1/18) to make it into a 60s-70s Saturday night cruiser with a slight gasser look to it. It should be a fun build.

A couple of separate eBay purchases which turned up on the same day:

Including some interesting packing material with the Mazda. I'm not sure if that price sticker on the Camaro is correct, even in the late '90s kits were rather more than £1.50 here! Maybe it went through a charity shop at that price at some point? As ever with these 1990s kits for me, it's more likely that it will be an engine donor and the remnants will get built as a curbside someday.

The Tamiya Mazda is unpainted and mercifully built reasonably cleanly without too much glue. I already have another bought in similar state,so hopefully there's enough to build one good road car from the two and then do something more extreme with the remainder. Also, I like these wheels and I can think of one or two other kits that they'd fit nicely.

The poor old driver looks a little green around the gills.
