Mike C. Posted August 25, 2022 Posted August 25, 2022 My Ray's kits '79 Bronco Freewheelin' decal kit arrived today! Now all I need is the AMT Bronco model to go with it. 3
Mike C. Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Just got back from Hobby lobby to take advantage of that 40% off thing. Picked up this '70 Trans Am kit. It's nicer than I expected. Revell even did a nice job on that Formula steering wheel i love so much. I ordered my resin Fomula hood on ebay earlier. Now I'm halfway to building a '70 Formula Firebird. Next, I'll have to eliminate those side scoops. Scratch build a hood tach. It even comes with thos nice pad printed Firestone wide ovals I'm always raving about.
keyser Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Hood tach in every 67-70 MPC GTO. Ask in parts forum. But ez to make. ??

stitchdup Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Took a chance on a job lot listed as incomplete on ebay and got it for a very good price including delivery across the pond. There were loads of pics and if other people had paid close attention I probably wouldn't have got it. It helped that many of the kits are molded in colour as i could see the boxes were just jumbled up and not sorted out. I think i came out pretty well with how many are just missing wheels and minor parts as i tend to customise everything. Theres a lot to see and some might end up for trade First up, peterbuilt truck, missing glass only so not a problem. strangely it appears someone shaved their beard into the box as it wasn't animal fur. they were grey haired with what we call the salt n pepper colour on this side of the pond. 34 ford convertible. appears complete model a delivery, appears complete but the front of the roof has been cut off. the part is there so an easy repair model t sedan, appears complete but i dont really need 2 squarebody stepside appears complete and there are some extra chassis which are always useful honda integra missing glass and chassis parts but good wheels and engine for something else, maybe the model a 1/16 lambo no interest to me and missing many parts tamiya jag, missing parts but i have a spares kit with the missing parts already dodge pick up appears complete. I'm sure I've seen a build thread for this one so have included an interior pic. anybody recognise it? trans am snapper appears complete, and corvette also appears complete. I've got an idea for a custom one so this was handy as i didn't have one jeep, appears complete and i like the original builder plan so will keep to that plan dodge charger missing glass dodge and plymouths, appear complete ramcharger, possibly missing hood but theres still a couple of boxes of loose parts to look through so fingers crossed chevy vans, should have enough part for 2 out of the 3 couple boxes to still sort, near complete tank no clue what this sprue is from, doesn't appear to fit anything i have 2
Richard Bartrop Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 I paid a visit to P M Hobbycraft, after partaking of the excellent pizza place int he same building, and I picked up this. I have a special project in mind for it. 1
keyser Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 @stitchdup The 34 is the odd Revell one with nice chassis. Looks like T is as well. With A it’s probably this. Nice haul. ??

Nice haul. ?? the box side for that set was in the box too. I'm glad they are complete as it was them i was most interested in. I didn't realise how much smaller the a is in 1/25 compared to the monogram kits. there didn't seem to be so much difference between the scales with the model t kits. is this model a maybe a touch undersized? it seems like the engines out of my other 1/25 kits would be a struggle to get under the hood even if i move the firewall back
keyser Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Les, I know the 34 is very small, scaled to fit T chassis. The SBF seems small, I’ve not measured it. It doesn’t fit under AMT 25 T hood though. I’ve used the chassis and fenders under a T delivery, had to fiddle cowl and use Revell hood. Dechrome the suspension bits and paint after subassembly built. If you used the chassis under another T or an A, you need to move fuel tanks. I think they went inside frame? I remember I swapped R&L tanks too. Sorry, kit in vault and I’m out having cigar. Go Ukraine. ??✊?
Straightliner59 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Got these Eduard photoetched belts to try out on the Vega. I'll put Simpson decals over the Sabelt tags.

But it makes a dandy starting point for a '34 Fiat Balilla. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Got a set of Cady decals for the Peking to Paris Studebaker.

KWT Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Mail call Do not need the 3100's at all... but hey, why not...
Robberbaron Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Stopped at my LHS yesterday after work and picked up an AMT 1965 Bonneville. Somehow managed to never get one before. (I typically have multiples of most other sixties-vintage AMT kits) 1
vamach1 Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 My son got a Lego Titanic for his 22nd birthday three days ago. He finished it today. ? It has over 9,000 pieces. 3

But back in the 90s/00s they focused mostly on racing subjects offering transkits and decals. This set of decals is for a special project they did with Hasegawa which took Hase's 1/24 Lola T90 Formula 3000 kit and added in resin & vacform pieces to back date it to the earlier T89. I believe there were 3 of these Hasegawa/Modelers co-boxed kits back in the past and these days they sell well in excess of $100. This was an optional set of decals sold separately to offer further options to those kits.

I’ll keep it in my stash - someone might need ‘em someday…thanks for the insight!

Here's one of those kits on eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/374223296332 You could probably buy the current Lola T90 kit (which Hasegawa has reissued 6 or so times around 2018-Present), a vacuform machine itself, make a buck, and make the other parts from scratch/resin for less than that is selling for... ? 1
Mike C. Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Won this on eBay last night. I never even knew this kit existed. Anybody know anything about this one? 1
