Look closely at that picture on the box. Note how grille is horizontally straight? The kit inside has that wrong and you will notice the edge of the grille and hood is curved where they meet. Doesn't take much to correct, but it will make you notice the error if you are familiar with the vehicle at all.

Never noticed it and it's not really a deal breaker for me. I don't know why they even have a chrome tree. If memory serves, these things were completely devoid of any chrome. I intend to completely customize this one.

Just delivered from ebay. These are some of my most popular kits as they are easy to build and come in various styles or enable conversion. The date on the box is 1975 and the price sticker was £1.35!

Hey whenever you get a chance share how the honey clear goes. It’s suppose to be like 2K without some of the chemicals.

Yessir. The original 1996 dually was part of the Snapfast Plus line. Basically an unassembled dealer promo. There was a Brickyard promo that was a short box regular cab, but I think this is the first time AMT offered this configuration as a curbside kit (they did a 454 SS kit but it was full detail).

Maybe someday they'll tool up a GMC front end and tailgate so I can do the Riggs' dually from the second movie!

All you need is the GMC grille emblem from the AMT Sonoma for the grille and a decal for the tailgate. But yeah, would be a nice little twist to get a box stock, factory stock GMC variant.

I never knew Walmart sold those kits Carl. I have quite a few to build now. And I just did the Rivera in the lime green decals. So I bought a blue one. That car looks so much newer than a 1966. A bit before it's time.

Anything that came in those Checkerboard boxes were sold exclusively (at the time) at Wal*Mart.  Most all of those pre-painted kit have a boxing as "CustomShop" that was red, and then the Wal*Mart "ProShop" checkerboard boxes which I believe actually had more kits total in the line than the non-Wally World series did.

Picked up this AMT '62 Fairlane at Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie, PA.  This had been one of my holy grails, best thing is I only paid 22 bucks for it.   It is missing the hood, engine, one wheel back, and the tailight panel; no biggie, I have plans for a 62-era Kustom.

Just won this "holy grail" kit on eBay. Comes with full roof and all glass. so, I'm one step closer to building something like this. I'll post pics when it arrives from New York.

Just got Too Many Projects' 1969 Buick Skylark body. Very nice body. I'll be making a model of a car my grandfather owned. This in my opinion was the best styled car of the Skylark series before they got a bit bloated in 1970. Depending on when or where you bought a Skylark made an impact on what trim bits you got. The body itself came out in 68. They came in Special, Special Deluxe, Skylark, Skylark Custom and of course the GS.  For the 69, I've seen these with horizontal ventiports low on the fender (early cars), vertical ventiports (most common) or none. I've noticed three different style grilles, one with just thin horizontal ribs with Buick tri-shield on the driver side, horizontal ribs with horizontal center bar and a  horizontal center bar with a verticle plaque in the center with the Buick tri-shield. These were found on all Skylark Customs.  GS grilles were a different grille altogether.I owned a Special Deluxe with what I would have considered a top line Skylark Custom grille with center bar and center plaque. Can't say for sure that it was original to the car. Are there any Buick experts here that could explain the differences. Don't get me started on 68s having ventiports high on the fender along the crease or low on the fender.

This came up when I was looking for something else, and I figured ‘meh, why not, might be something useful in there’

It actually has a BUNCH of great little bits of scratchbuilding material in there…large diameter tube, some full length sticks of some thinner rod and tube, some useful little interesting shapes, some large diameter stuff that looks perfect for making metal wheel rims…definitely pleased with the random selection I got!

Ollie's haul. I'm really not trying to buy more kits as I'm in the middle of moving domiciles, but ya know! Stopped in at Hobby Lobby and no car kits on clearance but got a few OT Airfix 1/72 kits for 2.49 ea.

Ollie’s got some new kits in the U.S mail truck, and these rat fink trailers. I picked up a trailer as I don’t have very many but a few moebius trailers.
