Bill Eh? Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Harold, I hope you are not too shocked when you open up the RofG Porsche Carrera RS 3.0 kit. This is obviously a repop of a much older kit. I'm not sure as to the origin of the kit. Two piece tires! Edited January 12, 2012 by Bill Eh?
Rob Hall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Got a Model Roundup Harold, I hope you are not too shocked when you open up the RofG Porsche Carrera RS 3.0 kit. This is obviously a repop of a much older kit. I'm not sure as to the origin of the kit. Two piece tires! I'm not familiar w/ the RoG Carrera RS...I have a Testors one, I think it is a Fujimi tool IIRC. Got a Model Roundup package in the mail w/ the '76 Gremlin, my 2nd Dirty Donny Chevy van, and my 6th or so '70 Super Bee (always coming up w/ ideas for Mopie builds). The Gremlin box is HUGE...considering how few parts the kit has, it's a bit much..I bet the 'original artwork' gimmick doesn't last for long..
Junkman Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 That Nomad comes in a lovely colour . . . . Lovely, innit? Kind of a mix between baby poo and gone off English mustard. Very inspiring. I hope I can match it...
Casey Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Gremlin box is HUGE...considering how few parts the kit has, it's a bit much..I bet the 'original artwork' gimmick doesn't last for long.. I was wondering if they made the box that size for a reason, then I stumbled upon this last night: It would be interesting to have both the new reissue and that Gakken re-packaged box side by side.
Rob Hall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Fascinating..never seen that t-top version in person...only seen it in the AMT catalog from '78 or '79..
1320wayne Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I received a shipment of LED red and blue flashers from policecarmodels.com today. They are cool and very bright. And relatively simple to layout inside most kits.
Wagoneer81 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I did a little horse trading with my buddy that owns the LHS in Muncie... Three International 4300's AMT Gravel Trailer Pete 352 Two International Paystar 5000's Part of a Revell K-100 Aerodyne. (The parts that count) another Intenational, model unknown to me... And two of my 'Grail Kits'... and International Transtar and an International Transtar II!!!
h3ae86 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Harold, I hope you are not too shocked when you open up the RofG Porsche Carrera RS 3.0 kit. This is obviously a repop of a much older kit. I'm not sure as to the origin of the kit. Two piece tires! yeah i saw that. problem is they're in kind of bad shape. Does anybody know where I can get a different set of tires for this preferably one piece tires, and maybe some deep dish rear wheels.
RodneyBad Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Got me a Mini Van and my LHS had the Bat-Pod stashed in the sci-fi area. Good thing I looked around.
tjones87 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 finally got a body for my Lamborghini Diablo...maybe I can start on it soon..had to buy a whole kit, but got it at a decent price...

RodneyBad Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Folks found some models for me and I don't want to discourage them soo I went ahead and payed. Not a bad deal if it's what your looking for, bad deal if ya don't need them. Soooo, what I got, I'll put up for trade Stanly Steamer seems to be 1/20 scale and started. and Revell Porsche Exotics combo
Sam Cates Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Here is what I pickep up today, I was named model builder of the year at our local club (hence the giant trophy) and picked up some kits for $5 each at the meeting today.
Prostreet Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Picked up the new AMT gremlin while at the hobby shop last night. Hope to do a drag or protouring build with it.
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Got these yesterday at my LHS. They had just come in from someones collection. I don't know anything about them but the molds look crisp and there seems to be a good amount of detail. Accuracy? I don't know jack about armor so I can't say but they look cool. And for $8 (Half of the cost of the Dragon kits)I thought that was a good deal. I got this one off Evilbay. The box is so big I thought I screwed up and bought a larger scale kit then I was looking for but I was wrong. Can't wait to dig into this one. I'm looking for a set of the Phone Dial rims for the Porsche if anyone has any. Maybe we can work something out. Thanks for looking
JamesW Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) Hit up craigslist over the weekend and picked up this desk today for $25. Got the old desk set aside by the window so I have a place to put my paint booth when I get it in April. Edited January 17, 2012 by JamesW
