mopar68
I've been away for a little while, great to see that this thread is still going. The work being posted here just keeps getting more and more amazing! Please keep posting this stuff people, it literally makes my day to see such incredible talent ...... Garret style turbo charger for the above 440 Get posting people! wish i had this talent what did u use to make the turbo Thanks Dustin, I appreciate that The turbo was made completely from various shapes and sizes of Evergreen strip/rod/sheet. The intake and compressor parts were made from rod. I heated the rod and wrapped it around an appropriately sized tube. I then cut off the excess and did some shaping with sandpaper/files. The smaller details were added with appropriately sized sheet and strips, also shaped with files as necessary. I was doing a proper tutorial on making turbos, but I lost the pieces I was using for it in the process of moving house Patience is all it takes though. Once you break the part down into simple shapes, you can put it together piece by piece, like a jigsaw puzzle.

It was hard enough to get two that looked the same... They are for my '64 Belvedere I just finished....Here's the WIP if anyone is interested: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67211 NOTE: Otherwise the engine, or anything else in that picture is NOT scratchbuilt. Shardik
I'm a little intimidated by this thread. The workmanship and creativity on display here is awe inspiring. What I have to offer isn't quite as intricate or technically demanding, but I'm pleased with it. This is a fuel tank for a 1930 Bentley. I bought the model as a partially assembled glue bomb and the tank was a mess and the molded in details just weren't up to par. Here's the completed tank with scratch built petcocks and guitar string fuel lines.
topher5150
Some of my attempts at scratch building. The master cylinders on the fire wall are my creation I also did the exhaust and drive shaft using ink pens, and that little red thing on the inside frame rail on the passengers side is the fuel pump The tranny tunnel, and the recess in the fire wall The fuel rail is made from plastic stock, and piano wire for the fuel lines and the hood side panels This is one of my first scratch builds this was my second visible V-8 so I had a spare intake and carb laying around, when I worked at a machine shop I would sneak in the garbage and grab hoses and wires that I would use in my builds

Psychographic
Some stuff from my current build. Everything but the wheels, tires, and brakes. Again, everything but wheels and tires. Everything but the engines, chain/sprocket, and front tire.
