Joker Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 Just realized I didn't include any "before" seat pixs..here you go Added half round styrene to the top of the seats and finished it with stretched sprue. After...
JasonFL Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 That's is so freakin cool. Would of never known it was scratch built if you hadn't posted those photos. I gotta start trying this "stretching of sprue" thing.
horsepower Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 The Chevy belair 409 kit has the 409 in it. The only external difference on all the W motors is the dipstick location and inlet manifolds. It not noticeable on our scale, but the other difference is there is an X cast in the block (raised) under the passenger side cylinder head, it's about two inches tall & quite prevalent on the full size engines.
Joker Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Just a little update.. Wagons are also known as Grocery Getters....soooo... Bottles are scrap clear sprue and the chip bags were a fellow club member donation(thanks Gene). Local grocery store name is Martin's..used Woodland Scenics rub on letters for the name. Joker
Tom Geiger Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Love the groceries. Those are the little items that turn out to be a lotta fun to make and really set the model off!

Joker Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 Thanks Y'all.. Well I taped up the body for the Dupli-Color Bahama Blue Metalic..sadly the weather isn't cooperating. The background pix is of a 56 Chevy I found in one of my Rod and Custom magazine. I also made some laminated knobs in clear blue and white styrene. I scored some clear blue tubing at a club meeting for .99 cents. We hold our meetings at Hobby Town here in the Ol' Dominion. Joker
Joker Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Well...Murphy showed up..he looked at the side trim and door seams REPAINT ! ! ! Laminate knobs installed... Close up of rear panel body work...does two things for me..mimics the front end and cleans up the sudden stop the side trim has. Graveyard shift is nite owls... Joker
Gluhead Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Ouch! Hate that... Oddly enough, I painted this kit the same colors back when it first came out...and was also visited by Mr. Murphy in nearly the same fashion. Looks good, though. I really like the taillight treatment.
Builder Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I can't believe all the details. WOW. I would have screwed up the grille in 5 minutes. Those blue knobs are the cats you know what.
