Hi everyone! This is my current project. I'm working on a nice, mostly stock Nissan. I'm not overly into what most people tend to do to these things. I've borrowed the wheels off a rally car of some description and painted them gun metal, played with the suspension to give it a bit of camber at the front, and made an exhaust from a McDonalds straw. Paint shall begin after the weekend!

I'll paint those wheelnuts and give it a wash when I get a chance.

Thank everyone :) I have a question to ask. This purple paint, I sprayed it and it looks rather.. bright. Too bright. I'll be using grey primer.. but will I need to maybe have a black base coat? This is the look I'm going for:

A black base coat will definitely darken the final color, try it out on a plastic spoon or some scrap you've got laying around first though!

Looking good so far. I love the color choice.

As for you color base question, yes you should use a black base to darken up that purple. Test it out on some plastic spoons first.

Cheers! And no thanks haha, I'm happy enough with my iPod classic and iPhone tag team. Sprayed the body today. It was NOT Midnight Purple. It was a weird silvery grey. Not cool. Some stern words with the automotive store will be had. I don't know whether to leave it the silvery colour or try something else.

@Brandon: Nah I just left it as it is. It turned ever-so-slightly more purple after lacquering.

I decided sod it, I got a good smooth finish off it so I left it the weird colour.

Midnight Purple, it is NOT. Last time I ever go there anyway.

Thanks guys... The colour has grown on me, a LITTLE. Still so disappointed it's not Midnight Purple though.

I finished it there now. The outdoor pics tomorrow will really do it justice though! Thanks for looking.

The side markers have been fixed since those pics were taken :)

Looks good, color looks fine too. My biggest issue with it is the front wheels, with only the front wheels negitive cambered in it looks weird. If the fronts are going to be like that the rears need to be a little bit also.
