Ron35369 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This is an original AMT 66 Impala SS convertible that I got on Ebay. The kit was unbuilt in an open box. I painted it HOK Kandy Brandywine with a white interior. A set of Corvette Rallys & Radial T/A tires from a vette kit.
Harry P. Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I like that one! Very nice. The shift knob looks to be about the size of a grapefruit, but oh well...
charlie8575 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 That Brandywine looks very close to Madiera Maroon, perhaps a bit more metallic, but still looks great on that car. Full-size Chevrolets of the 1960s are among my favorite subjects, and you did this one very nicely. Charlie Larkin
mikemopar70 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 These wheels and tires combo looks just at home on this Impala!! And the color looks awesome. Great convertible, i love it!!
Guest Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Nice looking '66 Impala Ron! I love the color on it! I have one of these that's still a project. Hopefully, I'll get it finished one day. Nice work!
crazyjim Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Looks marvelous. You can't beat a SHINY :) paint job.
surfjunke Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Very nicely done, Ron! Love the paint choice & finish. Very clean detail paint.
Ron35369 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thank you for all the great comments! I too love the Chevys of the 60's, if you couldn't tell
TooOld Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Beautiful ! The colors and the Rallye wheels look great ! Which vette kit are they from ?
Grumpa Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Really nice Ron! I love the color. Great work on the dash detailing too.
mangodart Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Wow you do very nice paint job, very shiny, I love that car !!!!!!
Dyno Davo Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I'm over talking too you now Ron, I'm just gunna use smiley faces
Ron35369 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 LOL @ David Loye, I like your style! Hey Bob, I don't remember which kit I got the wheels from...coulda been a Revell 68 or 69 Vette or it might have been one of the many kits of 69 Camaro. I just start digging through my stash till I find what I'm looking for.
impcon Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 WOW!! That sure is pretty!!! You did a fantastic job on the model! the wheels look great as does the colour combination. A fitting tribute to an age when cars still had character and class and you could tell one make from the next at a glance unlike the cokkie cutter BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that they market today. Your attention to detail is enviable and the model is a thing of beauty! I can't see or think of one thing about this build that I don't like. Too bad that this model has never been reissued. AAA+++
rustybill1960 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Sweetness again Ron!! It looks like your dipping these builds in "honey!" Absolutely fantastic Man!! thank You for sharing with Us Later Russ
