shucky Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Anyone know anything about the DuPage toy show? This show normally takes places twice per year and has been a long running show. But, I do not see it advertised this year at all. Usually in February and October? If these stop there is literally nearly zero shows in the Chicago-land area. Sad times indeed.
Exotics_Builder Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Well, it is a sales only event for some years now. The model contest was dropped a few years back. The February one is the February 24 at the usual venue, DuPage County Fairgrounds, Exhibition Building, 2015 West Manchester Rd, Wheaton IL
High octane Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Mike, I believe it is advertised in the latest issue of the "other" mag and don't forget the NNL and swap meet in April on the 13th & 14th.
shucky Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) Nick is that the Milwaukee NNL? I also checked the "other" mag last few issues and there is no mention of the DuPage show. I also do not see it mentioned on the county website list of events. Edited February 2, 2013 by shucky
High octane Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Whoa Mike, as the DuPage show did NOT take out an ad in the latest issue of the "other" mag and I stand to be corrected. Yes that is the Milwaukee NNL and if you've never been there, you won't be disappointed as we usually have 600+ models on the tables as well as club displays, a great raffle, and great music and PA system all day long. Photographers are shooting pics for upcoming issues of the model car mags also. The swap meet is the following day (Sunday) at the Waukesha Expo Center.
mikemodeler Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 There is also a swap meet at the Serb Hall in Milwaukee on the 14th. I have heard that it is primarily die cast but some deals can be found. Details on another post in this section under Scale Hobby & Toy Show
