ridinframe Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 49 merc by revell with some mods.. Chassis is notched in the rear and front spring pockets are cut for airbags and to give the front a arms room to layout. Body has frenched headlights, b pillars cut out, custom fender skirts and tail lights in the rear bumper. In the interior the dash and rear speaker deck were cut to make room for the rear and front glass, now that the car is so low. Soon to have scratch built 4 link and other goodies
IMPALA SS 427 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Nice custom work, what are your plans for interior and paint colour/colours?
ridinframe Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Colors, I'm leaning toward a dark green metallic with a light off white interior, really and clean classic.
Draggon Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 So far so good! I like your addition of chrome trim on the side. Makes it look real long and low.
JasonFL Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 That Merc is looking killer. Doing some nice subtle mods. Lovin the added trim and tail lights not to mention the perfect stance, lower is always better. I'm working on a Merc myself, slammed with some other mods, I was thinking about opening my trunk but wasnt sure how I should position my blade to get the job done. I'm guessing you just cut straight down but I wanted to ask and see how you went about it and see if you had any plans for the trunk. I'd appreciate any help you could give me, thanks. I'll defiantly be watching this build, keep up the good work.
BKcustoms Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Nice, there can never be too many ground scraping Mercs!
ridinframe Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Thanks everyone for the comments!! Jeff as for the trunk I just cut straight down and added a lip to the inside of the trunk one I had it cut open. As for plans for the trunk, I plan to make panels with some tuck and roll like the interior to give the trunk a clean custom look.
Mr Dedo Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Really like this kit, too. Opening the flat box was a lot of fun!
ridinframe Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Thought I'd give a peek at the chassis, just got the rear bag brackets in a few days ago and I hope to have the chassis in primer in a few days.. Also though I'd show the truck lip just waiting to get some tubing for the hinges..
ridinframe Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 A little peek at the trunk interior.. I hope to have the chassis in primer and paint in the next few days

Thanks for the help Josh, I think I'm just gonna have to bite down and open that sucker up. Your making some real nice progress with the build. The frame and the inside of the trunk are looking real good. I'm looking forward to seeing more, keep it going.
