Ron35369 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I built this 1940 Ford Coupe for my local Fedex driver. He is going to give it to his father in law who is turning 85 this month & who is in the process of building a 1:1 40 Ford coupe. Paint is the exact color he is using...2011 Honda Pewter grey & the rims are what he has for his Ford. Hope you enjoy.
cobraman Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Nicely done. Wouldn't mind having a real one that looks that good.
jeffs396 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Looks great Ron! You'd better get free shipping on packages for quite some time as repayment for that build!
Harry P. Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Man, that paint is smooth as glass! And the open vent window is a real nice touch.
Ron35369 Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 Thanks everyone for the great comments. I kinda hate to let this one go...but I think it will be appreciated in it's new home. Guess I'll have to do one for myself.
charlie8575 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 That's looks great! I'd have built two- one for the commission, and an identical one for me. Charlie Larkin
formula1129 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 (edited) Nicely done. Wouldn't mind having a real one that looks that good. It's funny you say that. Ford has commisioned a company to produce the 1940 Ford coupe, to exact spec's with upgraded drive train ( is the new 500 bwhp 5.0 litre good enough?) And obviously 4 wheel disc brakes, and all sorts of New age hi technology, no flatheads for this one, unless you want one. I think Dynacorn(?) is builing them for Ford. They are the same company making the first gen Camaro and Challengers. Check out the link here...http://www.worldcarfans.com/112102649845/ford-brings-back-1940-coupe-available-for-order-video Beautiful build by the way, looks just as good, if not better than my Danbury Mint '39. Kodiak Island Modeler Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I do love that car and the paint really works on it.
turn1wonder Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Very nicely done. Gotta love someone who is turning 85 & who is in the process of building. Bob
bbowser Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Very nice, love the vent window detail. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
