crazyrichard Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 thnx guys !! i have not done a lot have been a bit tired lately and the weather is so nice that i have been spending time in the garden .. wil def. continue it soon already markes the body on the inside where i need to build new inner wheel wells
Austin T Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 The stance on this build is incredible. What are your plans for the paint?
crazyrichard Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 thnx well thinking of giving it some copper metallic paint as base and like tape of lines and designs and hit it with silver and gold ?? not sure yet but i want to try some sort of custom paint job
checkmate Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Love the vans!! This ones going to be cool as when she's finished.
crazyrichard Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 thnx , well did some work on the inside this morning , weather is super nice so i'm going to sit in the sun now .. managed to put in a center piece of the floor pan and get in 2 wheel wells to cover the wheels inside , still very very rough .. managed to get everything in and keep the van slammed .. its real low ....body slammed i think i will not use this grille and make something from scratch instead
James2 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Good looking mods on this, I like the grill treatment and the in the weeds look.
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'm gonna be honest with you and tell you I thnk you should leave the front like it is... You did an awesome job on making that front end stand out differently on this body and it looks so cool and fits with the wheels and tires you have chosen do it... My vote would be to keep it just like it looks in the last pics....
crazyrichard Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 thnx and yes , but i was only planning on making a new grille insert , not change the front , this is a cut up grille from a 1/18 mercedes .. it kind of looks to much like that
DCLVXI Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Ok this is making me want to build a custom van. Iv never done one before......I'll put it on the to do list. ? Lookin good so far.
crazyrichard Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 thnx and @ james i was planning of doing it copper metallic and then mask stripes with silver / gold and ?? but i used up the copper trying something out on my motorcycle tank
crazyrichard Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 well did not do anything for a while , been busy with my 1:1 low budget chopper project , some other hobbys that i have .. but today decided to do a lottle work on the van due to the bodyslam the engine cover / console was way to wide it had some very round sides so i cut those off .. because i made wheel wells on the inside those sides of the console needed to be more narrow then made some straight sides from styrene sheet (rough on the pic) the inside is actually a lot of work , everything needs to be re-done from schratch and it ind of is like a small puzzle used some round plastic edges i cut of plastic sheets that are part of old (home) window blinds . and used those as a edge along the sides .. later on i want to flock inbetween those to make carpet then too a seat and made a frame on the right hight and test fitted that loads of work to do on the inside ...way more then i ever anticipated , but building is fun so .... no problem
Tom Geiger Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 well did not do anything for a while , been busy with my 1:1 low budget chopper project , some other hobbys that i have .. but today decided to do a lottle work on the van due to the bodyslam the engine cover / console was way to wide it had some very round sides so i cut those off .. because i made wheel wells on the inside those sides of the console needed to be more narrow then made some straight sides from styrene sheet (rough on the pic) Richard- that engine cover is way too wide in real life. I had one of those vans and there's very little foot room for either side passenger or driver.
crazyrichard Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 thnx for the info , i can inagine it being wide .. i ment its to wide for my build because on the sides tehre are now wheel wells to cover the wheels when its smalled .. zo i had to make the cover more narrow otherwise there was no leg room
crazyrichard Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 half hour work , closed up the feet space inside and added the steering wheel
crazyrichard Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 How's it coming along? well not done anything , been busy doing other stuff , working on my motorcycle , building a second larger fich pond in the garden .. and i have been working on my old models a bit to prepare them for a big model fair in september and also i have to finishg tha garage diorama for that but hope to continue the van build soon
crazyrichard Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 well did some work today , fixed the seats on the floorpan .. dryfitted it with the steering wheel and body .. and fitted a chevy rear bumper on the rear ... nice and fat and a bit over the top lol then primered the body again
