lonewolf Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I had the kit given to me some time ago minus the original box. The instruction sheet doesn't indicate what type of engine it is or what colors to paint anything. I'm not going to paint the truck as the "Movin On" rig, but I'd like to get the drivetrain correct. Any help would be appreciated. Tim????
Jim B Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 The engine in that kit s a Cummins (NTC350, I think). Anyway, the engine should be tan.
mackinac359 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 KW's from that time would have the engine painted PACCAR white. The real Movin'On KW had a Cummins 903 in it. (at least one of the trucks did) Tim
Jim B Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Tim, There's a photo on one of your "Movin' On" sites that shows one of the actors "working" on the engine. The photo is a little grainy, but the engine appears to be tan. Is that just my immagination?
lonewolf Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 Jim & Tim, I suspected it was a Cummins and I've seen both tan & white colors in them. Did they switch from white to tan in a certain model year? I drove an '86 Louisville for 8 years that had a tan colored Cummins in it.
mackinac359 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 KW was "all over the board" with the PACCAR white or engine-builder color engines. I've seen both.. but looking at the photo on my site it does look tan. Tim Jim & Tim, I suspected it was a Cummins and I've seen both tan & white colors in them. lonewolf Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 Thanks guys. I believe I'll go with tan.
