JunkPile Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Great job. It just isn't that easy to make plastic look like that. Nice details thru-out. Gotta love that exposed reinforcement seen thru the rips in body on passenger side. How long did this take you to complete?
chevyfever2009 Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Looks good one suggestion paint some mud on there too clean
lazlow Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Thats great, I bet a lot of work went int two this one.Is that a square drive shaft
greatsack69 Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Thanks guys, I try to be easy on the mud so i dont cover up details. It took about a month to finish. Also yes it is a square drive shaft. In the derby world its called a slipshaft. When the rear of the car gets bent and the axle moves it allows the shaft to compress or streach so you dont lose it.
vintagedragfan Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 nice old iron Zack!, I have seen many of these get junked in a derby, even junked a few myself! great job on it
Maindrian Pace Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Some time ago, I became addicted to watching demo derby videos on YouTube, and that car looks pretty much exactly like modern prepped derby cars. Really impressive. It amazes me how much effort goes into a car like this - almost as much as in some race cars - to be used up in such a short time. Derby people are a devoted bunch. -MJS
greatsack69 Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Yeah man its kinda crazy the top drivers spend 10 grand on there drivetrain alone these days. They are very devoted and love the addrinline rush.
