Tamiya by far. It doesn't quite "fall together" like many of their kits, but it builds into a spectacular replica with a little work. The Fujimi kit is a curbside with limited engine detail and the Italeri/Testors kit has stance issues. The Tamiya kit is also fairly plentiful, and the Monte Shell racing version comes with a nice fret of photoetched parts.

I just built the tamiya f40 it's a great kit. I didn't do a lot to it. I'm on my phone or I would post a link from the under glass section.

I do have a version of each manfacturer's kit.I'd go with the Tamiya as being the best overall. It has fit issues with the rear body but aside from that it offers the best detail.IMHO,though, the Fujimi has better looking wheels.Note also that there are differences between the kits in the number of rear window and body side vents. They represent the different prototypes.Yes,they all have engine detail-some better than others.

The Tamiya kit has excellent engine detail- here's a pic of the built-up engine from mine.

and a shot of the completed model... this is the "competizione" version.

I have both the Tamiya street version Testors / Italeri street version, and the Fujimi racing version. It depends on what version of the car you want to build. The Fujimi pretty closely copies the earliest racing version, and with minimal fuss, replicates the car ran in the IMSA endurance series. It is curbside, but is easily kit bashed with the Testors / Italeri kit for full detail. The Tamiya kit is wonderful for both street versions of the later racing versions. The Testors / Italeri kit does indeed have stance issues.
