Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 That 88-C is gorgeous! There's pics up of it on my thread about first car in the General section
BMX Addicts Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah!!!!... Don't ask me why, but I swear I had you in the 40 year old bracket Good luck restoring it, it is really fun to drive.

lanesteele240 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Kenny. Put that 1/24 stuff down and get back to work on that F40
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Haha Juan, nope, just turning 16 in a month's time. And in case you guys thought I'd given this up to work on my Mk.2... Painting the body tomorrow. Cheers
BMX Addicts Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Good stuff Tomo... At this pace, you will have three or four kits built in a couple months (Please add me to that list ). A couple weeks back I learned from a fellow member the use of markers to make the console buttons, but yours sure look a lot better, how do you paint these?
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah I can finish a build relatively quickly, it's called having nothing better to do but time is now gonna be slightly occupied! For the buttons I use a very sharpened toothpick, dab the end of it very very slightly against the paint that sticks to the lid of the tamiya acrylic tubs, and just barely touch the button. Works every time
Kennyboy Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Kenny. Put that 1/24 stuff down and get back to work on that F40 I'm waiting on my PE pieces for the interior. Figured I would do a quick build while I'm waiting. Progress pics
sportandmiah Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Here's my entry: Fujimi Porsche 911 GT3R. It's a really nice curbside kit. The plan is to take my time and really add a lot of extra detail to the interior and body. I need to fine tune this for a F2001 build down the road. Here's some of the goodies from my stash I'll be adding: -Scale Motorsport Flying Lizard Decals -Hobby Design Porsche 911 GT3 Photo Etch Kit -Hobby Design wires and plumbing -Hobby Design and T2M fittings -Model Factory Hiro Tubing -Hobby Design Antennae Kit -Hobby Design 5 Point Seat Belt -Brake Caliper decals -Carbon Fiber decals where applicable -And various scratchbuilt pieces where needed I hope to start it this week! All the cars look great so far guys!
Austin T Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Really thinking about joining in with a kit I just can't get rid of,must be destiny huh?
martinfan5 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Austin, welcome to the CBP, nice choice, I think you will be the first to do a rally car Doug, nice kit, I do want to get that kit
martinfan5 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Jon, Is your email broke? It should still be working
Danno Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 It should still be working Haven't heard back yet from last week's email.
o-man Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Small update on BMW. Hopefully computer wont lose this post. After working on a Tamiya kit, this thing is like going back in time. Had to sand the top of the block to get head to sit flat. Front engine cover appears to be sized wrong; it sits above the heads when installed. The intercooler is 90* off from pics I found of real car. Have to paint a few more engine details on clamps and airbox.

sportandmiah Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Looking good Oscar... Arnold, just browsed through your blogspot... Some serious skills bud!!!!. Thank you sir. But I still have a lot more room for improvement.
Kennyboy Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Thank you sir. But I still have a lot more room for improvement. I have to agree with Juan on this Arnold, your builds look amazing! I really like the results you get from decanted Rustoleum clear coat. Great work sir!
o-man Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Got a little more done on BMW. This thing has more ridges on areas that should be flat. Engine didn't fit correctly in bay. Still trying to decide if gas tank/rear undertray should be aluminum per directions, or some shade of black. Can't find any rear pictures on line.

The project is coming along nicely Oscar, I know is a crappy shot, but try here for a fuel cell unrestored.
o-man Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) The project is coming along nicely Oscar, I know is a crappy shot, but try here for a fuel cell unrestored. Based on some other pics I found of a 320, not a 2002 , it looks like its "dark" under rear bumper, so time to paint over the flat aluminum. Thanks for the link Juan! Found a better set of pictures. Not sure why I couldn't find these in beginning. Wrong livery, but correct chassis. http://www.stanceworks.com/2013/04/bmw-of-north-americas-vintage-collection-the-group-5-e21-320-turbo/ May be helpful to someone in the future. BMX Addicts Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) I know this build doesn't qualify for this thread (By a week), but is probably the reason why we got the GT forum started... It is without a doubt the best one off my bench so far. Just wanted to share it with you guys Edited May 31, 2013 by BMX Addicts
lanesteele240 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I cant wait to see that flying lizard Porsche together
