realgone58 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Well, I decided to fix up that old Otaki kit that I had in the trade section. Here it is. I thought it was a little bigger than 1/24, but I did the scale conversion and it's actually right on. I finished it in correct Burgundy Fire metallic (aka Red Moondust), with a matching satin Burgundy interior. I wish I could find a set of door handles for it. Guess it wouldn't be hard to scratch the handles out of sheet styrene, foil them and stick them in the top half of the handle cutouts. It's a curbside, and the white walls are Vinyl Nation.
MsDano85gt Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 you were trying to get rid of that gem?? be glad you did not looks great even without doorhandles
sjordan2 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Great color balance between body and interior. Nicely done overall.
Porscheman Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Beautiful job Alan. I built this one years ago, but it never looked right. I think the white walls bring the whole thing together. Nice paint.
Eshaver Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 FINE JOB young man...................... keep up the GOOD work !
W-Machine Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The '72 T-Bird. From an era when engines were strong, and bumpers were weak. Now THAT'S a car.
Dominik Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Good job Alan. Only things i am missing are doorhandles and mirrors. A polish job and They would give him a real look
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Very nice! Sad to see it listed on evil bay.... Too bad I'm broke, or I'd scoop it off your hands...
realgone58 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Very nice! Sad to see it listed on evil bay.... Too bad I'm broke, or I'd scoop it off your hands... I know. I thought about keeping it, but it's just too big to fit in scale with the 1/25 ones. It measures out at 1/24 actually, but still looks too big. It's out of proportion somehow. Don't get me wrong, it looks great by itself, but up against the others, the size difference sticks out like a sore thumb.
charlie8575 Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 A rarity in reality and in scale. Great work. Charlie Larkin
Austin T Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Great job. Anywheres I could get some of those Crazy wheels?
