1961 Mopar 413 Engine.

I'm starting to build a '61 Dodge Phoenix Stocker, but I need info on the 413 engine. There are different HP versions of that engine, and I can see that the 375 HP engine comes with Long Ram intake manifold. That is something I don't want to use on my build. So what kind of intake manifold comes with the 350HP version, or other lower HP versions of that engine?

I've spent over one hour on different pages, forums and Google, but I have found no help. I hope some Mopar experts on here can help the Chevy Guy out of this problem.

In the 1959 Chrysler 300E the 413 wedge was fitted with inline dual 4-barrel carburetors; it was factory rated as producing 380 brake horsepower (283 kW) at 5000 rpm and 450 lb·ft (610 N·m) at 3600 rpm.^[1] In 1960, a long-tube ram induction system was made standard on the Chrysler 300. It continued as standard on the 1961 300-G, and remained on the option sheets for Chrysler 300s through 1964. In 1962, a special version known as the "Max Wedge" was made available for drag racing and street use; this version produced 420 bhp (313 kW) at 5000 rpm. The 413 remained in use in medium- and heavy-duty trucks until 1979.

As far as what Stock class a Dodge Phoenix with the 355hp 413 would qualify for , I don't know .

But that is the problem. They don't tell that what the intake manifold/carburetor setup is on the lower HP models. I don't want to install Long Ram Intake on my Phoenix.

I found that same text too before, but it didn't help enough.

I'm not any kind of an authority on the early cars. But I think there were 3 different intake setups on 413's.

A single 4 barrel.

A short ram 2 four barrel setup

And a Long ram 2 four barrel setup.

I think ( not a good idea I know ) the short and long ram setups looks visually very similar of not the same in 1/25th scale

According to what I found on Allpar and The Old Car Manual Project, the '61 413s in the Dodges only came with the Long Ram intake, the Short Ram didn't come out until '62, even then it was a Parts Counter item, not factory install.
