martinfan5 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Found on Yahoo.com( so again, take with a grain of salt), and not to spoil number one, but 95% of you should just stop at number two http://autos.yahoo.com/news/the-50-greatest-movie-and-tv-cars-of-all-time-081241260.html
CJ1971 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Well no surprises there for No:1. Well deserved I'd say. But whomever came out with this list cannot really be taken seriously anyway... They've said the DOH ran from '79-'86.... WRONG. It ran from '77 - '84. Very surprised there's no Christine, DB9 from the last few Bond films, no Miami Vice Daytona ( hybrid ) or Testarossa.... No Nash Bridges 'Cuda... Disappointing list actually. Edited July 31, 2013 by CJ1971
Ridge Rider Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Number 1 not a surprise but am surprised there is no Christine- I mean a movie named after and about a car?
timc Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I think there were a lot of missed cars here. What about the black hemi Cuda from Phantasm?
slusher Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 l don't agree with some of the ranking. Christine should be in there and daisys road runner.
tooltas Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 yes they miss a lot of them....... a 40/41 willy coupe. hotrod movie and ford semi truck from white line fever.
Austin T Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 If were gonna do semi's who can forget one of the most famous Mark R's ever, The rubber duck. Or what about Duel?
John Goschke Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Most of the TV shows and movies those cars were in were really awful. At least in the case of "Corvette Summer" the car is just as horrendous as the movie. How 'bout a list of three memorable cars from great movies... William Hurt's Corvette from "Body Heat," Jimmy Stewart's Pontiac ragtop from "Anatomy of a Murder," Paul Newman's Cadillac from "Hud." Honorable mention goes to the TWO '55 Lincoln's in "Picnic" with Kim Novak and Susan Strasberg... Edited July 31, 2013 by John Goschke
Greg Myers Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Icons! Hollywood Knights '57 Chevy Project X # (that's number, not hashtag ) 46 ? The most iconic Tee bucket ever ? No make that the first Tee Bucket ever. # 39 ? Falfa / Two Lane Black Top '55 Chevy # 26/27 ? Corvette Summer ??? what ever it is , even on the list ? "THE" Hot Rod movie Willys not on the list ? I guess that's more than my two cents worth.
John Goschke Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 If there were any justice in the world the TV Batmobile would still be the Lincoln Futura and the TV Batmobile would've been something else. Like a black '60 Chrysler Windsor convertible. But that's my inner crotchety old man talking.

sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 If there were any justice in the world the TV Batmobile would still be the Lincoln Futura and the TV Batmobile would've been something else. Like a black '60 Chrysler Windsor convertible. But that's my inner crotchety old man talking. The original Futura (with a red repaint) was pretty much the star of "It Started With a Kiss" with Glenn Ford. My nominees would include Emma Peel's Lotus Elan and John Steed's Bentley in "The Avengers" series, plus Patrick MacGoohan's Lotus 7 in "The Prisoner." But what about the "Beverly Hillbillies" car?
Greg Myers Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 But what about the "Beverly Hillbillies" car? You looked on the wrong list : http://autos.ca.msn.com/editors-picks/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=29286536&page=1
Harry P. Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Where's the Bluesmobile? Where's Ecto 1? The Munster's Koach? Drag-ula? Monkeemobile? Black Beauty? My Mother the Car?
Lunajammer Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Baris at his best, taking the work of someone else and calling it his own. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/07/is-movie-car-czar-george-barris-taking-credit-for-star-cars-he-d/ Except the article you linked tells how he insists he never claimed credit for on-screen cars he didn't work on. He does take credit for having a hand in promotional copies that he did work on. Where's the Bluesmobile? It's Number 43 on the list. Edited July 31, 2013 by Lunajammer

Danno Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 All you need to know about this stupid list is: Yahoo. Well named.
sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 All you need to know about this stupid list is: Yahoo. Well named. Well, maybe for the rankings, but I think here are a lot of well-chosen cars.
Danno Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Well, maybe for the rankings, but I think here are a lot of well-chosen cars. But also a lot of poor choices and a lot of much better choices overlooked. Thus, a yahoo list. IMHCPO. Edited July 31, 2013 by Danno
Skydime Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) Knowing Yahoo, it's a wonder they didn't just list the 50 cars in the Nick Cage version of Gone in 60 Seconds. http://moviemiscellany.com/2011/07/the-50-stolen-cars-from-gone-in-60-seconds-2000/ There, I did it for them. Edited August 1, 2013 by Skydime
CJ1971 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 1966 Batmobile should be #1. Why should it be # 1?? It's not even a real or normal car. No-one could go down to their local dealership & buy 1. It's a pure fantasy car, not realistic. Whereas the General Lee WAS/IS real. You COULD go down to your local dealership & buy a Dodge Charger. Not only does it deserve its No # 1 spot here but it also claimed the No #1 spot in ( a few years back ) Hot Rod Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential Cars of ALL time, voted on by well known & respected members of the World's car fraternity.... You gotta respect that list.
slusher Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I thought the Bullitt Mustang and Charger should be ranked higher. l was glad to Rockfords Firebird in there. l also thought the Blue mule should be in there and what about the Coyote from Hardcastle and Mccormick. What about Starsky and Hutch and Zebra 3 Torino. Then again we all have feelings and opinions...
chevyfever2009 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) What bout the chevells from fast and furious ,Christine the police cars from the bandit movies or the snow mans 18 wheeler or the monte carlo from training day or the 64 impala from boyz in the hood Thats why its on yahoo because the people who did the list are yahoos Edited August 1, 2013 by chevyfever2009
