ksprotein Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Here´s my Aston Martin DB5 in scale 1/8. The colour is the original birch silver and the interior is real leather. Thanks for loooking. Greetings Karsten
sjordan2 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Spectacular, of course. But wasn't this kitted as a James Bond car, or were there separate versions?
crazyrichard Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) nice Edited August 20, 2013 by crazyrichard
ksprotein Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Yes sure, it was a 007 car. I rebuild them.
sjordan2 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Old Pocher kit possibly?Old Pocher kit possibly? Not Pocher. Same deal as the Citroen being discussed here: Sold in 85 weekly installments of parts.http://www.007db5.com/
Plasticfanatic Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 SUPERB model would love to have one, is was unfortunate that the promotion for this and other models do not cover the USA, I have seen two for sale at ebay as complete/finished models....but beyond my reach in price. Again great model and rebuild as are your other superb model projects.
deja-view Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Did you take any pics of the build/rebuild as it went along?
ksprotein Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Sure, no problem! Here´s the bodyshop, closing sunroof and firewall at the back
deja-view Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I noticed your wire wheels and chrome are also far nicer than the original "kit", too. So, you took a decent, fairly well detailed model and completely refinished and detailed it to make a finely detailed show piece. Nice Job!!!!
thinkbig Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Another great job after your Jags on the DB5! The wire wheels and leather upholstery are doing the model real justice. One sees your love to detail and work with this custom made transportation box. This kit seems to target more on electronic gadgets, than accuracy in detail. A real pity for me, but you really turned it to a collector's piece. Cheers Michael
ksprotein Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 The second DB´5 is on my workbench. It´s a classic racer in dubonnet red.
deja-view Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 That red is beautiful, too. From the pics it looks like the panels and "sheet metal" are scaled to look like a 1:1 car --- unlike most diecasts or plastics that so often are way too thick. Are you sending out your bright parts for re-chroming?
ksprotein Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Yes Looks authentic, The paintshop has to be done conscientiously.
uncle potts Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 WOW! Very nice models, I love the Aston Martins, and yours are very nicely done.
Zeekodadi Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW did i mention WOW, and more WOW on the site as well.
beeRS Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 This is amazing work Karsten. Congratulations on a STUNNING model of one of my all-time favourite cars. I am familiar with this kit being sold bit-by-bit on those magazines. It was one that I would have loved to have built, but at the time I thought that the total cost was not worth the magazine subscription. Looking at your finished example I wish I had stretched to it though. I had a look at your website and I'm hugely impressed with all the 1/8th models there. Keep up the amazing work.
ksprotein Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Thank you very mutch. Yes its a heavy price, but i give the most of the models away.
ZIL 111V Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Fantastisch! Herr Schmidt. A real museum/master piece for sure.
ksprotein Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Thank you Paul. Where you from? Cold Spot?
ksprotein Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 (edited) My classic Race Aston Martin is now on the road! It´s scale 1/8 metal Body. Edited September 14, 2013 by ksprotein
