MikeyB08 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 So my storage case that my Pin Vise drill bits busted today. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can use to store my drill bits while still keeping them separated? The bits are fine, I just need a case/idea for a case.
Skip Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I keep my loose bits in a mini Altoid's tin, got a nice little hinged top that clicks shut. I keep the Harbor Freight bits in there, the good ones go in their index.
1930fordpickup Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Jim take a piece of wood and use each bit to drill a hole for your storage place. Than stand it up on your bench.
turn1wonder Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 A small rodent. Joking! I use a drawer from one of my "parts holder towers", the things that you might buy that are full of nuts and bolts, etc.. I cut some foam just a tad wider than the drawer so it stays put then push the drill bits in it on an angle so they don't get caught while opening/closing the drawer. Bob
Jeremy Jon Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I drilled a hole in the top of the little plastic case they came in, so the base sits flat on the shelf, and the bits stand up right, behind the size marking screened on the clear lid, works pretty well IMO
Blown03SVT Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 what about a piece of adhesive backed magnetic tape, use masking tape to make labels and place accordingly?
