Car Crazy 81 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 After finishing my 37 Ford Sedan i'd figured i pull out another old build this one out of hibernation its one of my stepuncles old models. It started out as a hardtop since the rear window area was so distorted from using Testors orange tube glue the best thing was remove the roof and make it a convertible.

1972coronet Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Rick , are you going to make this into a Barracuda or its performance-oriented brother , the 'Cuda ? I , for one , would like to see it transform into a Barracuda replica ( flat hood , turn-down exhaust tips , plain fenders , etc.) , but with the top engine option for that model : 383 Commando . I'm looking forward to following your WIP
Car Crazy 81 Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 More progress found the hood that i'll be using its a resin piece that i got from a SA member. In order for the hood to fit flush i had to grind some of the material from the engine bay. Instead of going with the kits Hemi i chosen a 440 ci from a Monogram 70 GTX that came from my 70 Roadrunner i had to notch the motor mounts in order for the engine to sit level.
Car Crazy 81 Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 The other day i stripped off the old paint off the engine to get rid of the Moroso decals off the valve covers since this is gonna be a factory stock build. I'd repainted the engine with Dupli-Color "Engine Enamel" Chevrolet Orange which is a close match to the stock Hemi Orange. More work ahead stay tuned.
Car Crazy 81 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 After a couple months of deciding on what color to paint the 'Cuda i chose Valspar Garden Green a close match to the stock Sassy Grass Green. Later down the line i need to order a set of white hockey stripes instead of the billboard striping.
slusher Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Sweet color Rick, l like the hood also. Very nice work..
