Making a plug to make a mold what to use

Hey guys im looking at making a few new molds i usually make my plugs out of balsa wood but im exploring my options to find somthing easier to use and a better finish what would you suggest ? Im making 1:24 speed boat hulls

if you use clay as a master, make sure its sulfur free, most rtvs dont want to cure against it

That's true Jeff, most clay is sulfur free now, but important to check, gone are the days of the clay build rooms smelling like a sulfur plant - thankfully!
