doogie7046 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Here is one I built back in 1993. I got a built up cab that I stripped down and repainted. I added working rear suspension to the AMT kit and cut down an AMT dumptrailer to make the dump box.
Mopar - D Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Mike nice looking Mack dump truck and back ground.

Alain Hi Alain: Thanks for the comments. I originally had the 1/16 scale tire that came with the Revell Cando kit on the truck but that didn't look right. I noticed some dumptrucks around here are running a 385/65 or even the larger 425/65 tires up front with an overall dia. of up to 45.6 inches and I liked that look so the closest I had was the 385/65 Italeri tires. I know that Plaskit now makes a wide variety of float tires and when it comes time to rebuild this truck I may go with some of his newer castings as they are much wider than the italeri tires with a lower profile on the side wall height which would improve the looks. Thanks, Mike
chuckyr Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Nice build and photography. Build one with the RD cab. It will look up-to-date.
BigBad Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Very nice Mack, Mike! Good use of the dump trailer body. I like the chains you used on the rear door and on the pintle, quite realistic.
Old Albion Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 That is a very impressive looking dump truck. Great work.
