Kennyboy Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 That is just plain stupid!! Will be funny when the balljoints give out (hopefully on an abandoned road with a cliff at the end of it......)
Agent G Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 That is north St. Louis on a Sunday. Cruise day and all the wheeled abominations came out to play. G

I kinda like my cars to actually accelerate, stop, and handle WELL...which none of these are capable of. Edited October 25, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Well, it would be easy to change the oil . Oh, THAT'S the point !!! Duh...I shoulda known there was a good reason.
Joe Handley Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 These cars are called Donks its a big thing in the south I like them just not the shinyness. SOME of these cars have wheels big as 30 inch wheeld and themed like reeces or skittles I honestly think I could fit the 235/75r15 Wranglers off my Cherokee inside some of those rims!

Longbox55 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Technically, a "Donk" would be a '71-'76 Impala, but the term has been used generically to describe any jacked up car with giant wheels.
DrKerry Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 That's five seconds of my life I'll never get back...
mk11 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Here's some other Donks These would look great... on another forum mike
chevyfever2009 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 These would look great... on another forum mike But I like these kind of cars I have all of the revell kits of them
randx0 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) I guarantee the revell kits will be worth big bucks in 10 years. These cars may not win any speed records ,but i'd love to see them race . seriously think about a donk hillclimb or even something like a rally scenario. Edited November 4, 2013 by randx0
mk11 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 But I like these kind of cars... That's what counts, everyone's got their own style mike
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 ...but i'd love to see them race . seriously think about a donk hillclimb or even something like a rally scenario. ...autocross or gymkhana would be fascinating...or drag racing...3 minute ETs.
Craig Irwin Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 They are called "donks" because thats the noise a ball joint makes when it comes apart.
Evilbenny Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 They are called "donks" because thats the noise a ball joint makes when it comes apart. ..... There are also sub categories of the "Donk". Box or Bubble depending on the general shape of the car's body style.
chevyfever2009 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 They are called "donks" because thats the noise a ball joint makes when it comes apart. You do know them people who put big rims and tire combos on there jacked up trucks also have that problem
Tom Geiger Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Ah, we don't need to like them. They make somebody happy and the world won't miss a few old cars
misterNNL Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I believe that the steel company that did the stainless cars used them as a sales tool to advertise the duribility of the product.their top salesmen drove the cars on sales calls, some putting hundreds of thousands of miles on them.A couple of the 36 Fords were eventually canibilized for parts to repair others that had been damaged.
