The walking sack of human excrement that hit my old truck back in June (he was cited by the police at the scene for "improper lane change"), while he was trying to make a right turn into a mall from the CENTER lane of three lanes of traffic, has filed a claim against MY insurance company and is telling everyone a completely different story than what actually happened.

This is going to go to arbitration, and it's going to take forever.

Damm good thing I was able to repair my own vehicle to 100% drivable condition the same day (bent tierod and a LH outside mirror). Otherwise I'd be screwed.

I just knew this talking turd was going to try to weasel.

EDIT: Bear in mind...in over 50 years of licensed driving, I've only been involved in one other collision, and the other driver was 100% at fault. I'm pretty sure I haven't even had a ticket in over 20 years.

My irk of the day?  My wife had an operation last year.  After insurance, we got two large bills from the hospital.  My wife called to make payment arrangements and they consolidated these two bills into one new one and gave us a monthly payment.  I programmed that into my Bill Pay account and it gets paid automatically every month.

Recently we got two bills from a collections agency for the original two amounts.  We had never heard anything further about these bills since they merged them into one account.  I see the error, someone forgot to cancel out the original debts when they issued us the new debt.   The collection agency wants it all to be paid in full immediately. They are harassing, calling my wife's cell phone constantly. 

This afternoon I spent more than an hour arguing with three levels of numpty who refuse to hear my story and keep harping that "people like me need to pay their bills. It's out of their hands and deal with the collections agency." They refuse to understand their error and that they accepted three payments on the account since they referred it to collections, the most recent on August 4th, the day the installment was due. I told them it's illegal to refer an account to collections without any notice, and that they would have had to return any payments sent to them after that.  I explain that they've violated several laws, and I'll be on the phone on Monday with their VP of finance and I will name them personally.   We hang up.

I also let them know if I have to deal with their collections agency, I will negotiate the bill down to 20% to get the debt released without prejudice (I did this successfully with my mother's bills after she died).

About an hour later the top numpty calls me back. No longer so big and bold. Apologetic, asking me to wait until Tuesday to allow him to straighten this all out.   Aggravation!

Doesn't the ticket and accident report prove he was at fault?? It should say on the report that he was ticketed ???

My irk today is the emission test/tax.  I am the original owner of a 2004 Dodge diesel that has tested zero or next to zero emissions.  I was just told they won't test it because it has no catalytic converter.  It never had one from the factory and still put out next to nothing emissions.  I had unkind words with the technician and plan to find someone knowledgeable with 2003/04 Cummins that run so clean catalytic converters were not necessary.  By the way, they were only required on newer models because of regulations not need.  I hate government! 

Ohio had a great idea of emissions testing years ago (and since been abandoned).  I had a Dodge Rampage that had to get tested as it wasn't old enough for the exemption.  First, it took a while to find THAT GUY who knew how to drive a manual transmission to pull it onto the rollers.  Almost always they put the back wheels on the rollers before I told them it wasn't rear wheel drive.  They typed in the VIN into the computer and it always came up as a V8.  Really?  It says 2.2 on the hood!  Where would I put the other four cylinders???

The states "logic" doesn't end there!  It was considered a truck so I had to buy truck tags or non-commercial plates (an additional $20 money grab by the State).  We currently have a 2003 V-8 Durango.  A beast of a vehicle, but the State calls it a wagon so it gets car plates?

I ended up with a 103°+ temperature last night, not sure where it came from but I could barely make it around the house on the main floor and nearly passed out trying to get upstairs to my bed. I called off today so ce I kinda figured that if I was that bad last night, I didn't need to be passing out in the back yard of somebody who was at elderly and wouldn't notice me until it was too late, work, or worse, on vacation!

So, this afternoon I'm in my own bathroom, minding my own business, listening to the tear-off crew working on the roof next door, and I happen to glance out the window.

What do I see but someone sneaking across the somewhat overgrown part of the back yard and going to the door on the shed, trying to open it. I've got some good stuff in the shed, and I keep it padlocked. This is a relatively low-crime neighborhood, other than the occasional home invasion, so I figured the stuff in the shed should be OK...especially during daylight hours.

I give him a couple of moments, 'cause I can't really believe some fwad is trying to rip me off in broad daylight. When it becomes apparent he really IS trying to lever the hasp off the shed door, I scream out the window "hey, can I help you? WTF are you doing?" and other decidedly non-warm-fuzzy things of that general nature.

When I yell, I don't sound like a toothless old fart, but somebody who just might do serious harm. Fwad looks around, can't see where the shouting is coming from, and scurries back across the yard and disappears.

After I pull my pants up I go over to the house getting the roof. I'm seriously PO'd and I recognize fwad by his clothes. He says "I was jus' lookeen for a place to sheet", and that really sets me off. I'm surprised nobody called the cops on me.

Anyway, the ba-tards now know there's a crazy old SOB who just might be around.

So my question is this: why do I have to put up with people who seem to think it's OK to "sheet" in my yard (which is totally BS anyway), or people who think it's OK to help themselves to MY belongings...just because I'm probably not home?

I'm sure some of you will make your typical snide "get off my lawn" remarks, so go for it.

Because this is the word we live in.  No strict laws or even guns will make any difference. There are plenty of f-wads out there who simply just don't care if they go to prison or even get shot if they do something bad.  The simply don't think about the consequences of their actions.  They just don't think at all.

This forum won't let the real profanity be posted. So the posts are regulated for hard core profanity. Using similar ,but not quite, words in their place to get your point across has been going on for quite awhile. Always has, always will. I resort to it from time to time myself.

Today's beef: I have to go buy drywall, insulation, baseboards, and some more flooring to fix the water damage in my basement. Going to be an awesome weekend. Not.

Gotta agree with Bill there is no shortage of stupidity in the world.

Nearly got hit in a parking lot by a gal driving across the parking lot through the marked spaces will taking on her cell and driving too fast. It definitely gets tiresome.

The state of the world is dismaying. From those who are scum that take from those who worked hard for what they.

Then there are those unwilling to take respondsibility for there actions.

Finally the epidemic of stupidity which we see all around use. Do we really needs notices telling us not to smoke while we fill our cars with gas. Do really really need to be told not to text while we drive.

Truly a sad commentary on the world. It makes one wonder how mankind will continue to survive.
