I have found SEVEN in my District, two locations had complaints filed, yet the County allowed them to remain... Gubmint works the same wherever you may be. Here in the Swampeast, the county guy came by a few months ago giving me grief about having "too many cars" on my property. When I asked him about all the other lots within easy walking distance that had more and crappier dead cars parked on the dirt (also verboten), his answer was "nobody's complained about them". Who needs an HOA when Karen just has to call the county for backup? Edited Thursday at 07:01 PM by Ace-Garageguy 3 1
Old Buckaroo Posted Thursday at 07:58 PM Posted Thursday at 07:58 PM Shipping containers - the reason most towns/ burgs/ wide spots on the map don't allow them as they are not a taxable structure. If you buy or build a storage shed that is "stick built" the county or town can tax it. Shipping containers they haven't figured out a tax for them. 4

Little Timmy Posted Thursday at 11:48 PM Posted Thursday at 11:48 PM (edited) Just because your truck is rated to haul 80,000 LBS does NOT mean you can load it to the limit. Unsecured load, windy day, 120 miles to the recycling center, all adds up to potential disaster. Hate to be behind this guy on a freeway ... with a 75 MPH limit. This is just STUPID ! ( oh yea, there's a 6 cylinder truck engine block right at the tailgate. Sitting just above the top of the tail gate. Probably the first thing to fall off. It's the last thing you see at the top of the picture, all the way at the back. ) Edited Thursday at 11:53 PM by Little Timmy More descriptive 4

Actually, I wrote in all capital letters "SOME S*!THEAD THINKS IT'S FUNNY TO RETURN OLD PARTS IN NEW BOXES" on the box and had a conversation with the Parts Dep't director when I got back to the shop, presenting them with the box and used part A memo was issued to all Parts personnel to open and the boxes on all returned parts and inspect the contents. 2

Yep, that method worked for a LOT of situations in my old world, too... Occasionally you just needed "to have a little chat" with the offending party and they would straighten up, recognizing that more pain would be inflicted if they didn't. Nowadays, that practice will get you fired, arrested and probably sued... 2

I bet they want me to buy a permit......
TonyK Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Been fighting a Salvino's modified model kit off and on for quite some time. Nothing seems to fit so today I threw it back in the box. I've built a few of their stock cars and didn't have near this amount of trouble. I'm working on a Revell IMSA Mustang kit at the same time and it's a joy to build. 90's technology and everything fits nicely.
Ace-Garageguy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Today's irk: someone who has everything in the world to be truly thankful for...doesn't have to work, has a paid-for home in a beautiful area, paid for newish nice car from an excellent manufacturer that will probably go another 200,000 miles, a substantial amount of money in the bank, overall excellent health, several nice neighbors, and a loving, smart dog...but who elects to whine incessantly to me. An ex-wife or girlfriend? Regardless - just ignore them - maybe they'll find someone else to whine to.

That's my favorite(sarcasm). If it isn't terminal, repairable or remedied with hard work, then don't complain about it. Same goes for things outside of one's "business" or "control". I think some are just wired to cry. 2
